Apparently they have 6-12 bombs. They say they're "much larger" than the test ones (meaning probably somewhere around 20-30kt).

Obviously it changes things, and it is serious but someone correct me if I'm wrong...

If they hit the US with these 6-12 bombs (which they wouldn't waste all of them on), lives would be lost but they wouldn't put a dent in us, they would be out of bombs, and they're fucked. Is this correct?

But again, we don't know everything that is going on over there. We don't even know for sure the simple things like how old the new leader is for sure. We assume he was about 28 when he took over.

How easy was it to find these labor camps? Someone spotted it on google earth, the other stuff..sometimes news gets out. I have family with Korean heritage, that is in the military, there is just still so much over there that we don't know and can only guess at. Partly, because we have chosen to kinda leave them alone if they play nice. Well they have always been a big threat. We were watching the heck out of Iran, but with that reported explosion they had the other day, seems they might be a bit further along. Jim Jong il was crazy, but not stupid at all. He would do a few things here and there, but most he kept quiet and all the while there wasn't much for us to focus on over there. God knows what they have been doing underground, much like Iran has secrets underground. Good job for the labor camps, building underground places to work, unseen and something you really can't get to, again, much like Iran.

Bingo! That is the big thing..China. If China, their very good ally, supports them doing this, then there is big trouble brewing, really big trouble.

Republic of China was a charter member of the UN, but then the People's Republic of China came into being and that is mainland China and they basically took over the seats of China in the UN. Taiwan left Japanese rule and was given to the Republic of China, so basically non-communist China that is the actual charter member of the UN, is now Taiwan and they lost their power in the UN. Now Communist China is also a permanent member (out of 5 permanent members) on the UN Security Council and each of those 5 permanent members have veto power. These are the 5 permanent, veto members: China, France, Russia, UK and USA.

Also on a side note, China and Russia are not members of NATO, they have their own "anti-NATO" basically. Yes, China has the ability and possibly the desire and maybe the reasons, to turn this into WWIII or keep it from escalating. So, since the UN Security Council is having an emergency meeting tomorrow, what China says will be interesting. They have not issued a statement condemning the test, not that I have seen, as of yet.

It wasn't a quake, it was a nuclear bomb explosion. It was 1 km under the surface.
