If symbolic, this was on purpose.

The US government has technology that can make lightning strike any single point. And yes it is this accurate.

"Army looks to strike foes with lightning weapon"
[link to www.foxnews.com]

Tesla said that this technology could be used to power our grid though i am unsure if the lightning energy method is the same as his free wireless electricity plan.

^^^^^^^This^^^^^^

I really want to believe this was a 'sign' .
I believe this was 'staged' . Nice try though.
Now maybe if the pope was struck....THAT would be a sign.

In the "celestial city", thunderstorms are not common in winter (although not unheard of either), but they are more likely to hit in spring or summer.
...which makes the lightning strike even more unusual.
 Quoting: Creation Poetique

and how is it that you know for a fact that this video wasnt taken some other time of the year?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30927848

Conversely, how do you know for 'a fact' that it wasn't?
 Quoting: Creation Poetique

You can avoid the question all you want, i never stated that it was taken at another time of the year. but my intelligence will not let me believe that this is an "act of god" or "a sign" when no proof is given in the first place to support the OPs claim.

I question EVERYTHING.

I will repeat. i never stated that i knew that it wasnt taken that day for sure. i simply asked for proof that it was from the date in question. and have yet to see it.

you then decided to play a stupid game of questions like a child instead of presenting me with proof that this was indeed taken on the day of the announcement.

I am not hear to argue beliefs or play games. I am here to review facts of Para-normal things and make decisions for myself.

WELL GO TO THE FUCKING WEATHER LINKS PROVIDED ON THIS THREAD. Idiot.

Don't attack me randomly on a thread that you HAVEN"T EVEN READ and then act like you "think".

I'm not here to hold your hand and help you research your own questions.

I made MY OWN statement after MY OWN research.

Fucking idiot.

Re: FOOTAGE Lightning Strikes St Peter's Basilica as Pope Resigns 2013 HQ
The False Prophet and the Beast, aka the antichrist, are two different persons.
Any 5 year-old reading the text can see that.

Read Revelations 13. There are two beasts, one is the False Prophet and the other the AntiChrist.

========

The Beast out of the Sea (POLITICAL LEADER)

1 And the dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. 2 The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. 3 One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast. 4 Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, "Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?" 5 The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months. 6 He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. 7 He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. 8 All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast--all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world. 9 He who has an ear, let him hear. 10 If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity he will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword he will be killed. This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the saints.

The Beast out of the Earth (RELIGIOUS LEADER)

11 Then I saw another beast, coming out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon. 12 He exercised all the authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. 13 And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men. 14 Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. 15 He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. 16 He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, 17 so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. 18 This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.

I think Ratzinger had heart surgery actually. Rough stuff for an 85 year old. Probably can't make it standing all the way through a mass.

True that about last pope, in months before he died midnight christmas mass was handled by another priest.
But then, he was mourned and missed unlike Ratzinger.

Usually when dealing with mankind, our CREATOR is much more subtle than this. Apparently due to the lateness of the hour in history and the fact that subtlety doesn't seem to work on us very well - it would seem that our CREATOR has shifted to much more direct and almost blatant messages.

It is almost as if we've missed the more subtle and more gentle messages. So maybe this lightening strike on St. Peters will get the attention of the world. With our modern tech, the image of this AMAZINGLY POWERFUL LIGHTENING STRIKE was flashed around the world within seconds of it having taken place in Rome.

I surely seems to me that GOD is calling our attention to the happenings at ST Peters and at the Vatican as a whole. Strange, but extremely effective. Now the question that comes to mind is WHY? What are we supposed to be aware of? What is happening there beyond the publicly released information that has now hit every wire service and new outlet on the planet? The pope is stepping down because of his failing health. The stress of dealing with the myriad of child abuse cases and the cover-up and hiding of crimes (including not just rape but torture and murder of innocent children for hundreds of years back in the churches history) surely is causing the pope great stress and pain and more than a little bit of guilt over his role in the more recent cases. Perhaps he doesn't want to be in office or alive when the full extent of his personal knowledge and involvement becomes public knowledge? Who knows what evil machinations may be going on behind those walls that surround the Vatican?

what do you mean by "coming out of the water?

I am an Orthodox Christian and therefore the pope's affairs are not that important for me. It is important what his resignation will bring to the world. As you know, the Orthodox Church in Russia and elsewhere has Apostolic succession to the first apostles, most of the churches to St Andrew. So the Orthodox bishops were never consecrated by any Roman pope. Even if the Roman church is destroyed tomorrow, the Orthodox Churches continue Christ's mission on Earth uninterrupted. The Antioch church (in Syria) has apostolic succession of St Peter, the same Peter yes, who established the church in Antioch before he went to Rome. There is descendant of St Peter in Antioch too. So from Orthodox point of view there is no problem which one is the next pope. The problem is if they make a big trouble for the world with that. As they did in the past with the crusades and the inquisition.

Re: FOOTAGE Lightning Strikes St Peter's Basilica as Pope Resigns 2013 HQ
“i dont feel superior, I am not running anyone down. Yes you are. If I’m addressing the right person, you insult and use profanity. What do you call that?

I am also not the person you are talking to. Then you need not act so insulted or even make this sort of reply. You would not be considered a hater then, but you concocted this response which really shows that you are a hater

just someone who hates how judgmental christians are. and hate how entitled you all think you are. Many Christians do become judgmental..that is true, but many are trying to get you to see reason because they fear for your eternity. They get no points for doing that, but they are commissioned to tell you of salvation by Jesus Himself. It kind like…that’s their job. However, if you no longer want to be engaged anymore, they are also instructed to let it be.

what makes your religion right? What makes it not right. First of all Catholicism, Lutheranism, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism are religions. Christianity is NOT a religion but a relationship.

what about Hindu, Jews, Buddhists and other religions? there are some who have never even heard of Christianity Ok fine, Go ahead and put your eternity on the line and pick one of them as your ‘religion’.

religion is flawed, and you should respect others for not believing in what you believe. there are about 100 versions of Christianity and EVERY bible has been altered and edited to fit the times the believes lived in. so how can you take anything written in them literally? Religion is flawed and so are it’s followers. No argument there. There are many versions of Christianity, but most of them agree on the central parts especially dealing with salvation. There are a few that do NOT agree in its essential theology and I will not even address those. and EVERY bible has been altered and edited to fit the times the believes lived in. so how can you take anything written in them literally. This is not true in the slightest. However, there have been some Bibles edited/rewritten to fit a particular heresy, like some of the female centric ones of today and a couple to fit other heresies. Some editions to fit a liberal agenda. Most of the others were commissioned to express the English modernization they feel was best. Sorry, but you are showing how well informed you are like most detractors. Not based on what you discovered, but what either you think how it is or were ill-informed by others who simply do not know.

i get that the bible has good morals, but we dont live in the time it was written. and with current edits.. how can ANYONE understand it enough to take it literal. When Moses asked God at the burning bush what His name was so he could tell the people, God replied “Yahweh” which to the best of my understanding would be something like “I am He who is eternal and never changes from micro second to micro second”. My emphasis. The time when it was written, actually over a bunch of years has no relevance. God does not change and since He is not subject to time and He sees all and knows all the word does not change. If it did then, He truly would be a monster because people who believed on Him at one time would be condemned at another era.

i am a follower of science. and a former jew, i have never believed in the concept of hell. and never will.
Since when has science become a religion? Talk about change. Science once held that ‘bleeding a sick person would cure him or her. And that the world was flat, and that a piece of gold was clearly solidly one piece. Should I go on? Science is what is changing…continuously. It was recently thought that carbohydrates should be the basic building block on the food pyramid and that has changed. Why? Because scientist will never know it all, but the living God does. It is His creation.
Hell doesn’t exist? You NEVER will believe that? Yes you will. At the end of your life. As to the concept of Hell…I wish that I had present with me that very question as to the Jewish theology. If I had that piece of evidence, I would gladly relay it here, but a don’t so I won’t.

your arrogant god and religion is a stain on this earth. it has been the cause of every war and many many deaths. Christianity at one point was more brutal than Islam is today. i think Christians as a whole don't respect anyone who believes differently than them. its in your bible to push your beliefs on others. so by design you are arrogant and judgmental. and that is the folly of your kind.”
This is really loaded with a lot of bad history on your part. The stain is the blood of many who gave their lives for Christ as He gave His for us. The world is an evil place currently ruled by the most evil one in the creation. The inquisition were not holy men of God but self righteous people who were bent on hold their lofty and powerful positions use God, the scriptures, and RELIGION. They were simply….murderers that called themselves Christians.
EVERY WAR. Are you kidding me. I won’t even dignify that statement. Besides, please tell me why God instructed Joshua and Saul to kill every living creature in a country or city they defeated? They were not Christians were they. The rest of your statement is a complete lack of knowledge or understanding and an excuse to reject the gift of eternal salvation so you can go on living in your own hate and choose to do things in your own way. As it says in Judges (the last sentence “and there was no king in Israel and everyone did as they saw fit”. What chaos that was and for everyone who subscribes to that. Please do NOT tell me about Hitler and the Nazis. They were NOT Christians, they were what we call today as “new agers”. Go and do the research. The ones who called themselves “Christians?” Search the Christian scriptures where God or Jesus endorses what he did.
I have been on your side once. Asked the same questions and made the same erroneous statements. I cannot remember if there was a script or manual that had all of them or does it come naturally when we are in that ’mode’. I admit that I was not gentle in my response to you for several reasons and none of them are valid. So, in that I ask for your forgiveness for that faux pas. I was an agnostic/atheist some 37 years ago when I became a believer. I was also an anthropology major in college, as well. I’ve studied much and also wasted much study time, but as I go one in life I realize how fallen I am and must rely on His mercy and grace and forgiveness. I struggle mightily and know that the process continues. I wish I had all the answers for you, but hey, I don’t even have them myself. I believe, but not blindly because in those early days, I had a personal encounter and I pray that I will remember it always. I’m not perfect by any stretch, and realize how much I need a savior. I am grateful to the Jewish people for hanging in there all of these years and providing me with that opportunity. They have borne the brunt of thousands of years of hate to this day as the true on of all hate still tries to wipe them out. This in of itself should tell you who Hitler was a manifistation of. Who is it today that he embodies?

Contrary to popular belief, it is not God who is the enforcer, it is Satan rather who is long on patience but who enforces judgement. (st peter)

God is blind, and is only able to engender the duality realities through the creation of multiple spirit shells each harboring an essential piece of God-unity itself, the (I AM), which holds the spirit shell together, and with physical duality, engendered from memory, which is a script, not the present moment.

The free will part is the essence of spirit itself and of the soul. It arises and gives location to the tiny crystal of God Unity, and the script writer, which lies just beyond the spark of God Unity, the tug of war between this spark and memory (satan) is responsible for the paradox of a soul finding itself in particular sort of duality.

Free-will, allows an ultimate unpredictability to occur in time lines, which not even Satan himself can predict, although Satan makes countless attempts, with various levels of success, to prophecy through all of his subjects in the realm of duality. All prophecies are bars to our spirits btw, and our spirits can prove to overcome prophecies. (GLP effect?)

And God is blind, and if you ask, he will just tell you to look in the reflection of your own duality.

Satan is the one who engages in all manner of inter-meddling, with supposedly initial good intent, but with disastrous results, ultimately leading to the collapse of time-space continuity itself.

This was my sarcastic shill warning actually, but people who are blind to materialisim really often do think this way. For me, everything in our waking dream is an illusion.
:SpiderLtoR:
 Quoting: ehecatl

Then why are you here? Meaning, why are you alive if everything is but a mere illusion? Is love then an illusion to you as well?
 Quoting: cmoG530

I am here because I AM. It is all equally illusion, as it is real. But those who hold to the materialist view are often blind to omens that happen all the time.

Your question about love, is irrelevant.
 Quoting: ehecatl

Actually, in this context, I cannot use the word "irrelevant".

To put it another way, you have exposed yourself as trying to use a word with which people have a lot of associations, to attack me for an undisclosed intent.

Brother. If the word Love meant anything to you, you would be talking to me an a loving way, and would not be all hostile like a rabid dog.
 Quoting: ehecatl

Are you the one who used the term "Christian tards"?

Even if this is an illusion, people still feel the effects. Jesus is one who taught us to love all as ourselves. Love yourself first, then you can love others.

Why are there so many haters on this site? No one MAKES you believe anything. It is part of God's gift of free will. Do you hate God and His believers so much that you run them down and use foul language?

God does NOT send anyone to Hell. Each person chooses that destination for themselves. You have been given free will like Adam and Eve and Satan and his minions as well. Satan chose pride, Adam and Eve chose to disobey.

Does it make you feel superior and all powerful to mock believers. I guess if you were living in Rome after 70 AD and you were in the Colosseum you be be among the rabid citizens cheering for every hated Christian being slaughtered in every conceivable way. Makes you feel really good huh? Absolutely NO FEAR of a living God. You still are alive and have every chance to recant and ask for forgiveness of a loving God.

I'm prepared for your retort.
 Quoting: Alamo Al 24597360

Retort to what? You are taking a silly lightening strike and attaching "GOD" to it. This is superstitious nonsense. Then you take people pointing out the nonsense and applying it to christians being eaten by lions?

Being a believer or not has nothing to do with silly ridiculous crap and calling it out.

IF GOD wanted to comment, I think GOD would do a little more than strike a pole with lightening. The Catholic church and it's silly popery has nothing to do with GOD.

Meanwhile 10,000 or 20,000 will die of starvation this year. You are a silly idiot.

To be fair, have you read the previous statements t this one? There are a number of people making really rude comments to people of faith. I thought that was really out of line. Some people just like to do that and think their so mentally superior. Then, take yourself. You fit the bill.

"IF GOD wanted to comment, I think GOD would do a little more than strike a pole with lightening." Wow, I met God's program director who cruises this message board. How would you know what God would do? Are you in his pocket? And what about 10k or 29k starving people. Are you doing anything about it or is that God's responsibility? Because of the pope's resignation there were a lot of reporters and curious people there at night and in the weather. Good time to make a small statement.

Lastly, this all maybe a coincidence as I believe I said. I was not trying to make this the written hand of the Lord on the wall. It was about people like yourself. However, if this were a warning shot across our bow, then maybe you should start reconsidering your attitude.

Believe me. I'm no holy one. I'm a certified silly idiot.

Where the heck are you? You must be one sad individual and your words and attitude betray you, especially to another believer if you are one. It's easy to tell that you are no believer in the Christian scripture IF that's what you are claiming. You don't even display an ability to have a normal reading comprehension. Where is all this name calling coming from. Is that what you've learned from Jesus, or is your Lord someone else. Where did I say anything in that post that had ANYTHING to do with lightening or the pope? WHERE? Just by your hatred alone exposes what you are. You don't even qualify as a wolf in sheep's clothing. Time to get back to the boss. Don't know what's happened in your life but you sure don't have the peace of the Lord, so what does that tell you? IF you go to church, do you look around and check out who's hot or who's an idiot? Sounds like it. Do you just call people idiot and moron verbally when you see someone you don't like or are you a keyboard warrior? You don't exactly sound Christlike. Time to reexamine your motives and heart in light of Him and not your hatred.

I have a ton of fault and sin. One of them is paying to nonsense like this and responding. I have to pray ever day for my sin and short comings and the task is monumental.

What does your personal relationship with God consist of. Hey God, blow this asshole out of here. He sucks.

"There is no super christian" What does this mean?

"Read your own book" and this? Do you mean the Bible? As opposed to what? The Qu'ran? The book of the dead? Archie comics?

"The pope is bullshit, bible wise and such." I might agree with you on that. At least for this one. I'm sorry if I have offended Catholic believers here for saying that, but their salvation is apart from any human or organization. I'm not a Catholic myself but I know they have the core beliefs and that should be their focus. Not the superstition spun around the the church. Christ is central, nothing else.

Sorry about your misery. I know it's hard because I've been there myself for many years. I have to rely on Him to justify me every day. It's not easy to be a follower, but the alternative is horrifying.
