I am an Orthodox Christian and therefore the pope's affairs are not that important for me. It is important what his resignation will bring to the world. As you know, the Orthodox Church in Russia and elsewhere has Apostolic succession to the first apostles, most of the churches to St Andrew. So the Orthodox bishops were never consecrated by any Roman pope. Even if the Roman church is destroyed tomorrow, the Orthodox Churches continue Christ's mission on Earth uninterrupted. The Antioch church (in Syria) has apostolic succession of St Peter, the same Peter yes, who established the church in Antioch before he went to Rome. There is descendant of St Peter in Antioch too. So from Orthodox point of view there is no problem which one is the next pope. The problem is if they make a big trouble for the world with that. As they did in the past with the crusades and the inquisition.
