I'm a euthanasist at the Pound, my job is putting down innocent cats and dogs
I do it almost daily, as the amount of animals coming in exceeds the maximum capacity of animals at the pound I work at. The new come in and the old "go out".

These neglected animals live sad, painful lives, and their last days are spent in small cages until they finally come to me.

All that said, part of me enjoys my job. You get a sense of power taking a life, and I have taken many. I came on GLP and read about the art/ritual of energy vampirism, and I was wondering, is there a way I could absorb the life energy of these animals as I kill them?

You would be helping me by making my job alot easier, and it would also mean there would be a worthwhile purpose of taking there lives (kind of like a sacrifice).

Feel free to answer to ask a question, but I would appreciate it if someone could answer mine.

Firstly its not powerful any one could do your job, even a young teenage girl.

As for making it worth while, well it already is worth while, you're putting them out of their misery your acting as a sort of grim reaper and an arbitrator. Their not your souls to absorb.

Dude, instead of trying to suck their energy, why not do something positive for them on your off hours. Volunteer at a rescue, become a foster. Anything, because it sounds like the job is draining you.

Better yet, hook up with a rescue that is willing to take in some of those about-to-be-killed animals. There are plenty of rescues that specialize in the pets that are about to be put down.

I would become a foster, but the prospect of energy absorbtion is much more interesting to me. Many ancient cultures sacrificed animals for such a purpose, and I have my opportunity to do this thanks to my occupation!

Please someone who knows how, post!

^^ this.

shit dude. its a sad, sad reality, made far worse by puppy farms and pet stores, and i couldn't imagine - nor do i want to - having to do your job.

But, shit. To start to feel some sense of power and satisfaction from it, and then trying to justify it by 'making a sacrifice' for your own benefit? you disgust me.

Save the green dream for the so called owners who dumped and neglected these poor animals in the first place.

Scrap my last comment, save the green dream for yourself. You're beginning to sound like an elitist. Seeking your own power at the expense of the innocent & helpless.

I brought home 5 Kittens from Death Row at the Pound and one 'pavement special' called Floppy (His ears). They are incredible friends. Rather you than me. If you gave me a million $'s to kill one I wouldn't/couldn't.

Seriously? But think about your own being and the potential life energy you could absorb from their deaths? There is a lot to gain you don't realise friend!

Chapter I - YAMAKA VAGGA - The Twin Verses

Upatissa and Kolita

EVIL-DOERS SUFFER HERE AND HEREAFTER

Idha socati pecca socati papakari ubhayattha socati

So socati so vihannati disva kamma kilittham attano.

Here he grieves, hereafter he grieves.
In both states the evil-doer grieves. He grieves, he is afflicted, perceiving the impurity of his own deeds.

I:10 A butcher who suffered here and hereafter (Cunda)

Once in a village not far away from the Veluvana monastery, there lived a very cruel and hard-hearted pork-butcher by the name of Cunda who slaughtered animals by torturing them. Cunda had been in this profession for many years and in all this time he had not done a single meritorious deed. Before he died, he was in such great pain and agony that he was grunting and squealing and kept moving about on his hands and knees like a pig for several days. Then, after suffering physically and mentally, on the seventh day, he died and was reborn in a suffering state.

Some bhikkhus having heard the grunting and squealing coming from his house for several days, thought that Cunda must be busy killing more pigs. They remarked that Cunda was a very cruel and wicked man for he did not have a single thought of loving kindness and was also devoid of any compassion.

Upon hearing their remarks, the Buddha said, 'Bhikkhus! Cunda has not been killing pigs. His past evil deeds have overtaken him. Because of the great pain he had to suffer before his death, he was acting and behaving in a very unnatural way. Today he died and was reborn in hell.'

The Buddha concluded his discourse by saying, 'The evil doer always suffers for the evil deeds done by him; he suffers in this world as well as in the next. There is no escape from the consequences of evil deeds.

I rather gain that other energy. Being greeted by bounding joy at the gate or having a purring bundle around my feet. Energy sought is different for each person. Remember, what you're feeling will have a price to be paid in the future if you are not careful. Sometimes that 'Feeling'/energy becomes addictive and requires 'more' to serve its needs, and might consume you ultimately.

As you sow, so shall you reap.

Don't worry op, your harvest is on its way and no faith on your part is needed. Just keep on enjoying what you're doing.

If my assumption that you have employed at the pound for a long time is correct, then it's been too long.
