Invasion! DHS Source Tells Why Military Train in U.S. Cities (diff source, not Rosebud??)

Yeah, the whole "training in urban streets" only makes sense if TPTB think that it is plausible that citizen rioting could happen. What would make them believe that it could happen? Well, unless they are anticipating more short-term civil (and possible race-based) riots -- a very likely possibility, IMO -- the only reasonable explanation is that they know that something is going to go down that will lead to rioting.

So, what could that "something" be? Well, the possibilities are almost endless, but I think that it would have to be some kind of major disaster (my guess is either a natural disaster such as an earthquake or asteroid hit or else a man-made disaster such as a major nuclear reactor accident) that would lead to mass panic and/or a serious scarcity of food. Even during major Depressions, it was starvation, not the possible loss of their homes, that drove people to desperation and violence.

Anyway, does anyone think that anyone with a mortgage is going to lose their homes if the dollar collapses? (The fact is that during the Great Depression that began with the stock market collapse in October 1929, most people did not lose their homes.) First, how would the government even manage such an overwhelming number of foreclosures? Second, what would they do with all the suddenly homeless? (FEMA camps could not hold 100 million Americans and probably more, the government would have to resort to gas chambers or something like that. Does anyone think that the government will exterminate over 100 million people? Seriously?)

For rioting to occur due to the collapse of the dollar, I think that there would have to be major effects from such a collapse first, and I also think most people would be able to have enough time to stockpile enough food to last for at least a few months.

I truly don't think anyone is going to riot over gun control or loss of any other freedoms, either. Even in 1775, most "regular" people were NOT in favor of independence despite years of heavy-handed British control and unfair taxation. Most people will live with whatever happens (although they might grumble about it a lot) so long as think think that they and their loved ones are and will be "okay."

Anyway, as always, time will tell. But 5 stars to you, OP, for the info!

Times have changed. Back in the 90's when I was in the Army we never did any combat training within civilian areas. We had special areas on base designated for training.

Happened this weekend and it was a brutal massacre...not sure if us Beaufortonians are gonna make it...please send help and money, lots of money to Beaufort, SC (voted happiest coastal town in Coastal Magazine 2013).

But seriously, I live here and nothing happened. We hear gun shots every morning when the Marine recruits are practicing on the firing range at Parris Island, SC. Look it up. It sounds like a faint, distant popping of pop corn. It is actually very comforting to know that you have a bunch of highly trained AMERICANS living in the city.

Also, Jasper County and Ridgeland are about as unpopulated as you are going to find. If I owned a farm out in Jasper, I would gladly rent it out for a few days of a Marine unit going out and acting like they are going to blow something up. Hell, I would let them do it for free if they let me fire off a few rounds or blew up an old car I had out back.

The moral of this story is that there have been military towns all over the country for years, they train anywhere they can, and they are AMERICANS! There are more armed police men that you should worry about then young Marines about to be sent off on some peacekeeping mission in Zimbabwe. All we can do is prey that they all come back soon and support them while they are here.

DHS won't be policing the streets. You will be on your own. The will be guarding government offices and food supply chains. common sense... Local police will be busy guarding schools, medical clinics and local government offices, so better stay somewhat prepared on your own. I'm not sure if a bunker is such a good idea, but at least a firearm or two and some ammo should be in your future to keep thugs and thiefs at bay.

Pay attention frogs. The heat is going up on the pot again and you taste like chicken.

Nothing is going to desensitize me to federal goons patroling the streets. I don't even like seeing a traffic cop sitting in the median with a radar gun looking for speeders.

Whats going to happen before Stock Market crash, is all the major Corporations are going to go Private to save their a&&e&. This happened back in the 1st stock Market Crash of late 1800's. Wiped out a lot of people. Its going to happen again. This is a ploy done by Corporations that were done, way back when with a "Railroad Company"(forgot the name of Railroad Company) that did the same in the late 1800's with the stock market. Michael Dell just recently announced that he & some other vulture capitalists are buying back all public shares of Dell Computers and taking the company back to privately owned. Who's next....

Sounds to me like I better starty some stock piling of food, and other things again before the crap hits the fan. This is something we have been knowing would happen sooner or later but seeing it once again in words like that makes us all start realizing how bad crap can get.
