This may also have to do with the push for gun control - after all what do most troops bring home from deployment - weapons.

So 34K+ troops sitting around with nothing (not all but many ruined or interrupted lives and marriages, lost of daily adrenaline high, lack of support for processing their trauma and emotions, no thanks, no jobs, no benefits, and nothing but BILLS BILLS BILLS) yeah this is going to work out well...

Historically, hopefully they organize and march on washington (google "bonus army" or 1933's smaller "bonus march" in the wake of WWI) and demand not just change (hope and chains anyone), not just a new deal but a WHOLE NEW DECK cause the current one's screwed blued tattooed stacked and marked and we are the suckers.

Historically, that's the way it usually works.

You can't build up a huge occupying army full of Green card soldiers and associated mercenary units and not expect them to get used domestically as well.

Except that he is reducing the number of actual troops, some estimates by as much as 80,000-100,000.

They won't be getting anything.

By "Home" he means Heaven.

Many of the ones I know and knew are not or did not re-up. The bonuses aren't good right now. While they are deployed it's good money though. My logic is that since they will not re-up they will become one of the unemployed.
