Snip; Identify and find ways to eliminate barriers that
impede collaboration
and that complicate assisting
those in need of federal technical assistance and/ or
funding; and

Collaborate with key federal and non-federal
stakeholders
to implement a healthy homes
implementation agenda at the community level.

This Strategy outlines the goals and priorities in healthy housing for the HHWG during the next three to five
years. It is a first step in organizing the work of the
federal agencies committed to making healthy homes
available to all Americans
, thus serving both as a
roadmap for coordinated activities and as a visible
statement of the agencies’ commitments to carry out
specific activities
. It is encouraging that much progress on the broader healthy homes agenda has been made
already by HHWG partners, demonstrating a high level
of effective interagency collaboration upon which
future activities can build.

One of the first things the Jews ("Communists") did when they took over Russia was to take the children, then they closed the Christian churches.

Here in America theywill do it a lot more carefully, by saying your nasty, dirty house will be condemned, or instead you may have the privilege of giving us your children, which youwill beable to visit once in a while, and your children, which we love dearly, will get to live in a nice, clean, safe house.

Of course youwill have to work and pay support for the children, or government will take your house, and put the chilren back in it with a government-hired nanny, of an atheist nature, who hates Christians and Muslims and loves Jews and Communists.

Healthy like this??

Grim proving ground for Obama's housing policy

CHICAGO - The squat brick buildings of Grove Parc Plaza, in a dense neighborhood that Barack Obama represented for eight years as a state senator, hold 504 apartments subsidized by the federal government for people who can't afford to live anywhere else.

But it's not safe to live here.

About 99 of the units are vacant, many rendered uninhabitable by unfixed problems, such as collapsed roofs and fire damage. Mice scamper through the halls. Battered mailboxes hang open. Sewage backs up into kitchen sinks. In 2006, federal inspectors graded the condition of the complex an 11 on a 100-point scale - a score so bad the buildings now face demolition.

Healthy Housing is another way to shut down Assistant Living!

Many States have assistant living programs where they pay 90% of the to slum Landlords. It is a good way to get all these Section 8 or assistant living tenants into cheaper "HEALTHY HOUSING"!

If.... If.... If....
Big IF.
If something like this could be done right it could be very beneficial. Most commercial buildings are designed to not last more than 30 years or so. And, to save money they look like crap.
IF a massive rearrangement could occur wherein buildings were built to last like old Europe, many hundreds of years..., then all would benefit. But it would need change the entire system. 150 year mortgages etc.

I said, 'IF'.

(CNSNews.com) - Under the broad banner of "health," the federal government not only is telling Americans what to eat, it's also telling us to make our homes safer.

This week, the Obama administration released a "bold new vision for addressing the nation's health and economic burdens caused by preventable hazards associated with the home."

The project has a name: "Advancing Healthy Housing: A Strategy for Action."

 Quoting: Indysmindy

Why isn't he concerned about putting those who are homeless into adequate homes first while he is fixing up substandard homes for those who are already living in homes. Heck, we have the highest unemployment and the lowest housing rates and sales and he can't figure how to put two problems together such as these. It's a sad state of affairs. It truly is.

Same shit in Belgium.

Where I live, people who own a house and rent it to others will be obliged by 2015 to isolate their houses to a certain value. If they do not agree, the house CAN NOT be rented until upgrades have been made. The house will even be declared as non sustainable.

Wicked shit.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30785039

Wow! Isn't that the same in Korea I read recently? They are making the units there and I read also in UK they have to allow them to rent out to others if they are just one person living alone ?

This is in NY! Recent as well.

[link to online.wsj.com]

NEW YORK — New York City has a designer for its first micro-unit apartment building.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Tuesday a development team won the design competition for the pilot program.

It'll design and construct a 55-micro-unit building, "My Micro NY," on city-owned property on West 27th Street in Manhattan. The units will be between 250 and 370 square feet — about the size of a one-car garage.

Forty-to-50 percent will be reserved for low- and middle-income New Yorkers.

The announcement was made at the Museum of the City of New York. An exhibition opening at the museum Wednesday features a 325-square-foot model of a fully-furnished studio. It also features the designs of the city's winner and four finalists.

The team consists of Monadnock Development LLC, Actors Fund Housing Development Corporation and nARCHITECTS.
 Quoting: Indysmindy

My grandfather used to own "furnished room" buildings in NYC. They had a bed and a desk. Not sure if bathroom was included or if it was down the hall, dorm-style. They included no kitchen facilities, or maybe shared kitchens on the hall too.

How is this different?

So a few hundred thousand homes that were foreclosed upon actually owned by fannie may/ freddie mac I.E. the fed. Now an agenda to declare housing unsafe. This would be a great combo if you were looking to export generational welfare and rampant crime from inner-city projects to your lovely suburb. Combine that with weapons confiscation for the law-abiding and what you would have is a populace terrified for their own safety and willing to accept federalized "protection". Liberty would breath it's last breath as a whisper.

No. I moved to an area sight unseen because it looked ok upon first inspections and it was near one of the great lakes. My home is on a street with several empty homes and there is a tent city blocks away from here. Unemployment is high here. All here, right here in this location. You wouldn't have to scare any of the suburbinites. This is a suburb itself.

Get up and get out and look at America. Look around and you will be surprised at what you will see. People cry that we have too many people on this earth. Really? Why do we have empty homes with homelessness? How is that possible?

Why are people starving to death when 50% of our food goes to waste? Why?

Yes. Congress should be careful not to fund this boondoggle.

He's also trying to revive the homebuiding industry. Remember a year ago or so, he said the homebuilding industry needed help, but the rest of the conomy was basically OK. Does anyone else remember that, he actually said it!

That was almost as funny as when Bill Clinton said we'd have to stop running surpluses and start running deficits, so that we'll issue more 30 year government bonds, because otherwise it would damage the bond market. Yes he actually said that, and then he did it too. It was the start of our slide into unpayable debt.

But I do have a healthy home.

We grow our own food, that's fresh and free of chemicals.

We get our meat from the deer that share the woods and garden. And from the fish in the lakes behind me. Neither has extra chemicals.

Our water comes from an underground river that flows below us.

And my home has been in the family, as well as the home up the road for the last 100+ years instilling tradition, hard work, and values into my children.

I doubt "The Prez" has a healthier home in Chicago with all of his chemicals, cars, rape, murder, lead paint, and city water.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33985225

A healthy home according to who? Non-hybridized seeds, meat missing growth hormone, water from an aquifer that the government can claim mineral rights to, and a nuclear family? Jesus, you should be in prison according to this administration.

Re: Here it goes! Obama Adm. Says All Americans Must Have 'Healthy Housing'
To those of you that might question how they could even attempt to enforce any "regulations" that might come of this, might I remind you that most of us do not "own" our homes. The banks do for the most part, and my guess is that there are clauses regarding general upkeep and maintenance within your loan agreements, as well as Lender recourse if some form of undefined "negligence" were identified and proven. Additionally, given that most SF home mortgages are owned in a large-part by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, which are essentially government entities today, my guess is that they could have all sorts of fun enforcing/coercing just about anything they come up with.
 Quoting: SaveUSa

True! Think about this also, I heard at any time these banks or foriegn countries that own these loans can say - pay in full now (because of our debtness and dollar's worth) I'm not an expert in finances, but anything can happen to Americans because we are very vunerable right now with our economy as it is.
 Quoting: Indysmindy

I believe that is not correct, fortunately. Your loan contract is governed by the text in black and white on the document. If it doesn't say that they can accelerate the loan, then they can't.

They can accelerate if you go to a certain degree of default, and they can adjust the interest rate on adjustable loans according to a given formula, but they can't just make shit up if you stay current on payments and insured per the loan requirements.

With all the stuff to worry about, at least that is one thing I am not worried about.
