Re: NO ONE TO TELL YOUR TROUBLES TO?? GET THEM OFF YOUR CHEST HERE. WE PROMISE TO LISTEN AND UNDERSTAND.
Thanks for the cool thread. I have a grievance I'd like to get of my chest. I've lived in a rented house for the past 16 months. The rent has never been late and we've taken good care of the place. When we gave notice last week and requested a refund of our deposit, the landlord began demanding that I fix a bunch of rotted wood and rusted hardware on some of the decking and fences if I wanted my deposit back. When I challenged this, he began insulting my wife and myself, stating that the reason we are leaving is that I can't find work here and that no one at my wife's office likes her. I've never even tried to find work here, I'm a full time dad and I also make plenty cash as a consultant. He then went on to make some implied threats of violence. I think the guy is off his rocker, and I'm doing my best to not respond in kind. We still have another three weeks to live here, so I'm a bit concerned for our safety. FYI, we're not on the mainland, so the rules are a bit different here...

Sorry.

I just read an article in the paper which said that by implementing "brain freeze" (by eating ice cream really fast, etc.) it can get rid of migraine headaches.

Look at it this way: either you'll get rid of your headache, or you'll enjoy some delicious ice cream! It's a win-win!!

Husband has stopped calling or coming home(truck driver)i have one vehicle(old truck)on its last leg.

Im all alone(no family around)i find myself sleeping more and more, not getting chores done as i should.

You must feel so alone, tired, abandoned and taken for granted. Though it might seem you're alone, there's a huge population of grands raising grandkids. Some of them are really up there in years too. Hope you can get some support and get a break. Found this article you might be interested in.
[link to www.post-gazette.com]

I got the article from one of the pages here:
[link to community.grandparents.com]

Did a quick skim and it looks like they're very welcoming to newcomers. You might want to drop in. Even if you don't see any active help, knowing you're not alone and some people might have it worse, might lift your spirits some. (not that you'd be happy some had it worse..didn't mean it to sound like that)

Maybe you could even start a thread here. Might get some real jerks too, but bet there are a lot in the same boat right here and they might have something to offer.

Wish I could help, OP. Making a difference in the life of a child is the most important thing you can do. The days might drag, but those years sure do fly. Hugs to you!

Edit to add: Was skimming that second link some more and saw a post from someone here...at least someone here posted an identical thread here. GLPers everywhere. 8)

Im waiting on spring ta see if the weather will help me,i sleep when my body tells me(been lots of late)fought off a bad flu around x-mass,took me a month and a half before some of my energy came back.

What hurts the most is being alone with all this bullshit,my husband doesnt even call and check up on us anymore.

Im not a nagging bitch and im still nice looking but maybe he found someone else and is to much of a chickenshit ta call it what it is.

I have no health insurance ontop of all this,so when i do get sick i tough it out.My daughter cant help how she is and is atleast staying on her meds this time around.

Thank you for this thread.

I owe a lot of money after a failed business venture. It is stressing me out to no end.I lost everything because of this venture including my car, house, woman, money, respect and goodwill , health and almost my hope. I am starting the rebuild phase now but the last few years have been quite dark for me.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22155772

I am sorry for that. I guess the only way you have to look at it now is that every thing from here has to be up.
 Quoting: Desert Fox

You say that you have been re-building. How have you been doing that? Is there any way that we at GLP can help? Are you presenting a product which we might purchase or promote by word of mouth? Which part of the Country are you in? Maybe some of us are nearby!

Can't find roots beyond my Great Grand Mother who was a Kituwah Cherokee. First western settlers in eastern Oklahoma. She died when my Grand Mother was 2 yrs. old. I cant find ancestors even through census and rolls. Nobody is alive from my Mothers side of family where this bloodline is.

How can I get help ?
Not looking for any tribal relief, just where my roots go beyond.
I don't want to offend a tribe by asking, as it is my understanding, that the Kituwah had prided themselves by not mixing blood, therefore keeping true blood.
My Grandmother said her Mothers tribe settled before the second wave of tribal settlers moved west, including before the trail of tears.

Any suggestions ? Who would I consult ?

Hey, Desert Fox! Good idea for a thread. For the AC, it may not be a total dead end. My mom has done a lot of work on several family trees. Have you checked Ancestry.com? It could be that someone else has a piece of info that will connect with yours. It IS only a shot in the dark, but worth a try.

DA did nothing about that(bastards),he wants the child so it is costing an arm and leg for lawyer and also filed bankrupt,IRS after me and hubby over back taxes.

Husband has stopped calling or coming home(truck driver)i have one vehicle(old truck)on its last leg.

Im all alone(no family around)i find myself sleeping more and more, not getting chores done as i should.

I cry more than i ever have in my past,i try and tell myself other have it harder than me but somehow thats just not working anymore.

verysad You are suffering deep depression. I know because I went thru two years of it over a daughter situation. Try and get on some Zoloft, it may help.

Wellbutrin worked pretty well for me - It was the only medication which didn't make me feel like a zombie.

Smallest dose of Zoloft normally doesn't cause that problem. Wellbutrin is also good, but some claim upset stomach.

Thanks Fox, always like your posts. I did live on Ellsworth in the early 70's when I was younger. You were never stationed there were you ?

First, no never at Ellsworth, every where else tho. lol About your ancestors, the problem is that no clear records were kept on early Natives. The government did not consider them more than any other animal so they kept no records hardly before the trail of tears. They did log some of them. If you have no relatives to rely on, the trail is cold. IMO

She could try that, but records about Natives are scarce for that time period. I would suggest she does contact the tribe, they will not be offended, if so, nothing ventured nothing gained.
