Grandma of 49 raisin my grandchild while dealing with her mother(Bipolar)and dealing with the father of child which took her at 15 while he was 25.

DA did nothing about that(bastards),he wants the child so it is costing an arm and leg for lawyer and also filed bankrupt,IRS after me and hubby over back taxes.

Husband has stopped calling or coming home(truck driver)i have one vehicle(old truck)on its last leg.

Im all alone(no family around)i find myself sleeping more and more, not getting chores done as i should.

I cry more than i ever have in my past,i try and tell myself other have it harder than me but somehow thats just not working anymore.

sad in Texas

You must feel so alone, tired, abandoned and taken for granted. Though it might seem you're alone, there's a huge population of grands raising grandkids. Some of them are really up there in years too. Hope you can get some support and get a break. Found this article you might be interested in.

I got the article from one of the pages here:
[link to community.grandparents.com]

Did a quick skim and it looks like they're very welcoming to newcomers. You might want to drop in. Even if you don't see any active help, knowing you're not alone and some people might have it worse, might lift your spirits some. (not that you'd be happy some had it worse..didn't mean it to sound like that)

Maybe you could even start a thread here. Might get some real jerks too, but bet there are a lot in the same boat right here and they might have something to offer.

Wish I could help, OP. Making a difference in the life of a child is the most important thing you can do. The days might drag, but those years sure do fly. Hugs to you!

Edit to add: Was skimming that second link some more and saw a post from someone here...at least someone here posted an identical thread here. GLPers everywhere. 8)
