...

I would be glad to oblige you if you could present any credible proof that the events as presented were false and that Dorner killed no one. All we're dealing with here is opinion, and so far, I tend to believe what I've witnessed the last few days. So far, apparently, you don't.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29948208

My point was the guarantees of the Constitution being ignored and the repercussions of shredding the document. I am not arguing the case of Dorner except to point out the obvious and that is to say the man did not get what the Constitution guarantees all of us. You obviously don't care about the rule of law and would be the cheering section for burning people at the stake because someone said they were a witch or warlock. Perhaps you will one day be in a situation without due process of law. Have fun then.

I'm not sure the Constitution would guarantee anyone publicly defined as an outlaw, by his actions and by his own word, any sort of right. And, fwiw, there's a substantial amount of difference between public accusations of witchery and fairly well documented murder.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29948208

WHAT??????? Have you even READ the Bill of Rights?

Did you miss, specifically, the 4th - 8th amendments? They exist ENTIRELY to rule out punishment or incarceration based on false claims by guaranteeing the accused specific rights. These rights cover every single aspect of any investigatory procedures, as well as procedures through trial and sentencing. Later Amendments also address procedures that must be adhered to during incarceration.

If there were no application guaranteed those who had been, to use your words, "publicly defined as an outlaw...", then you can be accused just as easily of theft, murder, rape, child molestation, etc., demonized through the media, and summarily executed on the spot.

Is that the country you want to live in? Is this belief so rampant throughout our society that it has become the very reason no one will call evil as evil in fear they will no longer have any rights once they're accused of something?

The very fact that such statement(s) can be openly made really shine the light on the rotten roots of many problems within our country. I'm appalled I've even read such in regards to another fellow American citizen.

so you'd rather have 5 more cops give their life to drag him out alive? why would he be stocked up with all that ammo and still trying to shoot cops if he was innocent? wouldnt he at least attempt to say hey i didnt really kill all those cops i said i was going to kill before i killed them? police officers are armed for a reason.

Whoa. We have laws, we have definitions of right and wrong behavior and means of dealing with those who break the laws. We are, essentially, a lawful, and law abiding society. In most cases when laws are broken, those breaking them proceed through defined processes and are dealt with appropriately. It's not an infallible system but for the most part it works well, and better than most.

There was a situation in LA several years ago where the Symbionese Liberation Army was holed up in a house and eventually met the same fate at Dorner. They too had no recourse to their rights but we known to have committed several crimes.

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

Is it then reasonable somehow, to say Dorner's rights were violated, any more than the rights of these folk, despite Constitutional guarantees?

so the "officer crain" funeral is being broadcast on local tv here in los angeles.

it is honestly THE BIGGEST police funeral i have ever seen.
and they are taking HOURS of airtime, showing every little detail, hundreds, maybe even athousand, police officers,
little kids saying"thank you "in unison as the car drives by,

it is soooooooo overblown, its like the pope died.

officers die every year, i have never seen anything like this,
and TELEVISED ALL MORNING!

and everyone is "suffering" and totally overreacting, one woman is fainting, everyone is mourning, crying.

i'm waiting for someone to start tearing their hair and ripping their clothes....

there's been a precession of officers into this church,
that the fallen officer had no connection, that has taken over a half an hour so far.

no disrepect to officers that die in the line of duty,
but this "funeral event" must be costing several cities millions of dollars today.

they have bands, video memorials, and more people than i've ever seen at a funeral!

it seemn waaaaaaaaay over done....

like a big hollywood production again.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18380705

Sounds like it.
And officer Keith Lawrence, what kind of send off did he get?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1482838

actually cops funerals are usually a pretty big deal... they just usually arent on tv because they were'd killed after a manhunt the entire nation was watching. tv stations go for ratings, this is an opportunity to go for ratings. its close to hollywood, so production levels could be higher... police depts out there took a big hit in the public eye, would make sense they'd want to look good here to help them look better in public eye.

dude literally declared war against all cops out there, of course as many are going to show up as possible.

Which initially translates to, "Yes I have no proof", which is fine. I don't either. fwiw, I'm on your side in regard the Constitution being abrogated but that's another topic.

I'm not sure the Constitution would guarantee anyone publicly defined as an outlaw, by his actions and by his own word, any sort of right. And, fwiw, there's a substantial amount of difference between public accusations of witchery and fairly well documented murder.

Don't get me wrong. I was on Dorner's side from the beginning. I was born and raised in LA, went through all the BS there, Rodney King, Watts Riots, OJ, etc, and knew some LAPD. He had, imo, a legitimate bitch and it's going to get ignored.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29948208

You are so frickin wrong! The Constitution guarantees all American citizens the right to a trial. At least it did. By the way murdering someone as a witch or as a criminal, of any sort, is against the Constitution in the strictest form. Murder is murder. Self defense is self defense. All have to be decided as per evidence in a court of law according to the Constitution. You and the LAPD had this guy already tried and convicted. What if someone set him up? What if he was not the man who did all these things attributed to him. What it this is the best psi op yet? Do you think Dorner could have know things the other "authorities" did not want known so they made this elaborate story that really set people against the cops and military (or at least that is what they wanted to happen) and it is all a hoax? Can you prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, he was the guilty one? No you can not! You speculate! That is why we have rule of law. Otherwise you are no better than the mob that burns people because you THINK so or SOMEONE ELSE SAID so. I would never trust you on a jury! If he is proven guilty he gets what ever the law allows. He was run back into a cabin by bullets so they could fry him. He was never going to get due process.
Now, please go someplace and shut up!!!!!!!

By "publicly defined as an outlaw", I don't mean some fed saying he's a terrorist and NDAA rules and we can bring in armed drones. I mean, according to what to me is accurate reporting, he killed several people on his hit list and a few others that were associated, being policemen. I have no reason to doubt the reports. This isn't Sandy Hook, and it's not going to lead to riots in LA. IMO, the police took appropriate action.

Good grief. Presidential funerals are shorter than that.
You do know who Keith Lawrence is, right.

That's the alleged fiance of Monica Quan who turned out to be, you guessed it, an officer of the Law.
A gun toting officer assigned to USC.
And I don't remember hearing about that.
But I found a pic of him I posted upthread.

And as for Monica, I kept going back page search by page search until I could find something about her career or SOMETHING prior to this shooting and no articles at all related to being an asst. coach nor her stellar career and Lawrence's at Concordia University.

Re: BRKG: Cops Responding To Shootout With Federal Officials, LA Times Confirms Dorner. Update: Dorner May Have Died In Fiery Blaze, Or Escaped
so the "officer crain" funeral is being broadcast on local tv here in los angeles.

it is honestly THE BIGGEST police funeral i have ever seen.
and they are taking HOURS of airtime, showing every little detail, hundreds, maybe even athousand, police officers,
little kids saying"thank you "in unison as the car drives by,

it is soooooooo overblown, its like the pope died.

officers die every year, i have never seen anything like this,
and TELEVISED ALL MORNING!

and everyone is "suffering" and totally overreacting, one woman is fainting, everyone is mourning, crying.

i'm waiting for someone to start tearing their hair and ripping their clothes....

there's been a precession of officers into this church,
that the fallen officer had no connection, that has taken over a half an hour so far.

no disrepect to officers that die in the line of duty,
but this "funeral event" must be costing several cities millions of dollars today.

they have bands, video memorials, and more people than i've ever seen at a funeral!

it seemn waaaaaaaaay over done....

like a big hollywood production again.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18380705

Sounds like it.
And officer Keith Lawrence, what kind of send off did he get?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1482838

good lord. this funeral is STILL GOING ON....
ITS BEEN ON TV FOR ABOUT 4 HOURS NOW.
AND THEY STILL ARE NOT DONE.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18380705

and now they are going to PARADE THE HEARSE thru the entire city. another few hours of roadblocks, helicopters, armies of armed police "protecting each other" from the boogeyman.
so glad i'm not out in riverside right now.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18380705

I am I work right smack in the middle of this on Arlington st. all the road blocks and there's been 8 helicopters swarming around us since 8:30am this morning.

we don't. the "manifesto" has been so tainted, at this
point, by so many bogus versions floating around, the
website being taken down, that nobody can even substantiate
which version was originally on the website. so we have
no idea which version he is purported to have written, even.

By the time they got to the last wall, authorities heard a single gunshot, the source said. Then flames began to spread through the structure, and gunshots, probably set off by the fire, were heard."

The vid and this statement dont match up. The gunshots were not ordinance exploding from a fire. Very distinct rapid fire shots, hammer hitting shell.

The question is: was it the police who were firing or Dorner. The cops on the other side (near the camera) were hiding and returning fire...

That video was taken hours before the standoff ended with the fire. It was right before he holed up in the cabin.

well, and, somebody set off a smoke grenade, and i

possible thrown that smoke grenade that far without

Chris Dorner Torched Waco Style ?

 Quoting: Jeremiah 11:9 31106515

Americans still have a sense of fair play. While most think he actually did what was claimed, a day in court is the fair thing.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18641858

Uh, it's a little more significant than "fair play". This isn't a football game. This is the law of the land.

There are these little documents called The Constitution of the United States and the United States Bill of Rights which dictate that a person is given a fair trial. How would it be if any random police force in the country were to decide that they can kill any suspect they want without a trial?

wtf!!!??

Looky here
