I'm the AC who was treated by Dr. Eek and Dr. Klein. I have not had facet injections, but I can confirm that the Prolotherapy shots are very painful. The needle is huge and the injections are targeting the site of injury (i.e. deep into your spine). I recommend accepting the Demerol, don't try and man up, as I did for my second round of treatment...that was a mistake. The recovery wasn't bad though, less than a week for most of the pain to subside.
