Re: Do the birds know something??
Strange to hear about that many robins in any given area.

Strange about the other post as well that stated Robins and Starlings together.

Starlings are very preditory and harrass other birds like Robins. Its kind of like Black and White. Sorry it is.

My Blackbirds came back a week ago and are starting to nest under the roof again. Way to early. 2 mnths too early. It has been quite mild here in Southwestern BC.

I have quite a few Large Shepherds. A puppy litter right now and visitors to the kennel. All the dogs start barking for no reason and then start howling. This has been going on since last Thursday. Been happening on average 5 times a day. Yesterday was the worst. 12 times.

They only usually howl once a night when the coyotes do their sing song. Not like this. Its crazy.

The ones that usually like to stay outside want in and the insiders and couch potatoes want out. Its been a revolving door. They are bitchy with each other also. Seem low energy and sleeping alot.

Me Too.

Don't you all know that birds are really flying serpents?

Ever notice their feet are scaly?

Drink the Water, You will see what they are trying to tell you.

I'm not so much rattled by the flocks as I am about last summer. I typically would go through a bag of birdseed every week. I still have the one bag I bought last summer. Many migratory species where I live simply did not show up.

Indiana same way. Never really seen anything except a few sparrow out in the yard (and a goose or two from the pond)

Oh, and by the way the geese and ducks never left. No one feeds them either because it is VERY ghetto here. So not sure why they stayed.

For the past few nights. Crows. Thousands of them, swarming, at dark.

I think alot of birds are dying also. Mass animal deaths are everywhere.

Every year I have less and less barn swallows. Its really sad. I used to have 40 pairs and the last 3 years I have 5-6 pairs and last year only 2 pairs.

Makes me sick.

Same here in Western New York State.. Geese flying south numbering in the hundreds.. with mixed other birds in tow! I thought it strange and seems many others had seen the same thing today as well..

Could be something.. could be nothing as I've seen Geese flying south in the winter in other years....

Where I live I can see a riverlake where the swans have their nests every spring. One year they build them taller than anytime before - and we all wonder why...!?

This was in 1995 and later that year Norway was hit by a "500 year flood".

All the swans nests did just fine through it.

Don't underestimate the birds!

Well, today there were blackbirds, numbering in the hundreds/thousands going south out of my area. But no geese this time, or sea gulls.

I think I came through the area at a later time today, so don't know what came through while I wasn't in the car.

Ive seen a ton of seagulls in my area recently! Im in the foothills of NC! It's not abnormal to see them...just many more recently!
