Anonymous Coward User ID: 34146475 United States 02/12/2013 11:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I swear some people are dumber than a bag of bricks when it comes to economics. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34238343 If 3 workers bring in $250/hour - do you really think that after paying the 3 workers $25, that the owner pockets $225? No - because out of that $250 comes: Rent Electricity Food costs Paper costs Legal fees Fuel Costs Insurance - liability, Workers Comp Employer portion of Social Security Cleaning supplies Office supplies Pest control Business License fees Advertising Credit Card fees Franchise fees and more... After paying for these things, the average franchise owner sees about $14/hour. Hardly the "rich", right? Just middle class, as most are. If you take a small business who hires 50 people, and they have to pay $2000 more per week they will have to either A) raise the cost of the product, B) lay off employees or C) shut their doors. BIG CORPORATIONS can absorb these costs, but small businesses cannot. I am telling you know, this will be the final nail in the coffin for the economy and the end of small business. You raise minimum wage when the economy is strong, not when it is on a lifeline. Bunch of f****** idiots. You're a fucking idiot. Back in high school when I worked at McDonald's the Franchise owner drove a 100k dollar Mercedes. So sorry if I don't believe your shit. IF someone has several franchises, they were wealthy to begin with, but MOST DON'T. You can believe it or not, I don't give a damn anymore. Go ahead and burn it all down, stick it to the small business owners - they are the ones that will struggle. You'll see soon enough. I'm fucking sorry if I don't believe your shit. You are simply a liar. A greedy fucking liar. You fuckers said this same shit last time the Minimum wage was raised and guess what. There are now even more fast food restaurants. So again, sorry if I don't believe your shit. Minimum wage not livable (1.25) Raise minimum wage Minimum wage not livable (2.50) Raise minimum wage Minimum wage not livable (3.25) Raise minimum wage Minimum wage not livable (4.65) Raise minimum wage Minimum wage not livable (6.25) Raise minimum wage Minimum wage not livable (7.25) Raise minimum wage See a pattern? I suggest we go straight to $1,000,000. If that turns out not to be a "livable wage"...which it won't....then we NEVER do it again and let the market set the price of labor. I'm ready for that deal. |

Most states do not follow the federal minimum wage. Quoting: Veresanctus States have their own rates but they have to meet AT LEAST the Federal Minimum wage. Then more insurance companies boom because the law required everyone have health insurance. People become healthier, and smarter. Most people (lower and middle class) benefits in a little way. The pay raise includes plenty to cover the extra taxes, in way costing the bigger companies more.. ie: the upper class, ie: republicans. |

If not then you have a greater gap between economic classes. Extremely wealthy and high poverty w/ very little middle class. And that can be broken down into smaller communites as well as a larger scale. They taught this concept in grade school for crying out loud. Do you remember? To share your toys with your friends? You can't expect to have to many friends if you don't wish to share your toys. Or do you really even care about the economy...? Be honest now. |
