Hmm $7.50 an hour versus $9.00 that is about a 17% increase. How many minimum wage jobs are there in our economy, most at McDonalds, Wal Mart, Target, etc.
An employers cost is mostly labor. Corporations won't pay the increase the consumer will pay the increase as they will pass they pass the cost on.
I would say this will drive up prices for everything you need at least 10% once imposed on average.

Because that will get you about the same as raising the minimum wage will. In a year you'll be wondering why things are about the same or worse for you. There is a surplus of unskilled labor. That surplus is likely to stay the same or get worse. You are trying to sell ice in the arctic. Guess what...people don't need much of it. And guess what...if you arbitrarily jack the price up because you aren't making enough....it won't make them buy more of it. It will make them buy less.
