Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14293559 Please give us more info on what you refer. Certainly we must always be pushing far beyond today's technology. Clearly we are refining more oil than ever to satisfy current needs. It is imperative that we invest into the R&D that will change our lives. In 1994 I interviewed Dr Nicolas Negroponte from the MIT Media Lab. I was very excited to ask him about cutting edge MPEG2 technology emerging at the time. About 2min into the interview I realized he had thought about that 20yrs ago and was just now coming to market. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 32300303 Alaska is huge and WE WANT DEVELOPMENT!!!!!!! I'm not sure who you are referring to as I am in Girdwood Alaska. I bought gas today at Tesoro on Ast and NLights in Anch and paid 3.71gal. Certainly in places further from "town" are paying more, and of the road system in places like Dillingham its likely 8-10a gal. I said nothing in this post about not developing, nor did the President in his speech tonight. Hell, in the summer I mine placer gold and darn near shower in Diesel. So please lets not just make assumptions. What the president said, and I agree with, is that there are clear steps we need to take to move forward and lets do that. lets start with the positive side. If you are in Alaska, and I have no reason to doubt, than you know our current oil issue, ACES was passed by who???? Oh yeah Republican Governor Sarah Palin. So again, anyone that wants to pay politics can. I am sick of that and am only interested in solutions for all. I love you. |

OK, sorry man. But we can't waste money on trying to save plants and such. Not now when the economy is teetering on the brink. I look at the national debt and I can only conclude that the dude is trying to destroy the dollar and thus this great country. |

Oh btw environtards if You feel so strongly about the environment then do something about it. Why not plant a tree or go work for a evil oil company or something and try to practice what You preach. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34212650 Thank you, this is a great point. He was a bit heavy handed. So as I pondered your point, I had a realization. Every person in Congress and the Senate, including the VP all have something in common that the President does not share. All of them, except President Obama, are up for RE-Election. Every politician spends the Majority of their time seeking campaign funds to fund their office and run for Re-Election. In the first term Obama shared this truth. Now he is less restricted by The Powers the Be and can speak more candidly and take direct action based on the Highest Good of Humanity, not the needs of Special interests. So while he certainly bull pulpit-ed, I am glad he did and more so may his Actions be even more resolved. I love you. |

So that being said, yes this thread and frankly everything is a big joke. LOL. Now that we've covered that and yet still find ourselves CHOOSING to engage in this reality, lets talk. OK, I agree with you that this "Matrix" this illusion of Economies and Governments and Corporations etc, etc is false and not Sustainable. While this paradigm does exist, I will continue to talk about the aspects of it I find Absurd and wish to change. I would encourage everyone to do the same. With regards to fluoride, again another topic I agree with you on. I stop 2 times a week at mile 109 on the Seward Highway to fill personal water containers from a natural spring coming out of the Mountain. Its beautiful, fresh, non treated water. If you come to Alaska, I would be honored to show you where it is and share some non-fluoride treated water with you. You see, we have more in common than might at first be realized. I love you. |
