I was in the area and experienced it personally
the initial booms 4PM was a underground cavern collapsing.
It happened last month also.
the ground here is limestone plus there is several mines that run under the whole area.
We had 15 inches of rain since the 1st of the year.
there are several sinkholes opening up plus lots of lower areas have up to 20 feet of water standing, thats a lot of pressure.

The booms later that night was a few people having fun.
they fill those huge 12 foot round cloud-buster balloons with either hydrogen or acetylene and oxygen.
then put a long cannon fuse for 5 minute delay.
then attach several smaller balloons to increase the lift and get them higher.
when the fuse hits the big one the sound is like a loud crack of thunder.

I have known to guys to use 2-3 inch diameter 6-10 inch long PVC pipes filled with black powder and use a cloud buster filled with helium to lift it. That gets the same effect with a deeper boom plus if someone were looking at the right area it would look like an explosion in midair
black powder puts off more fire plus makes lots of smoke.
