Serious Question for Christians about going to Heaven
Many things about the Christian religion confuse me. With respect to going to heaven pending the return:

1. When you die, do you experience nothingness until Jesus' return?

2. If so, do you experience 'nothingness' instantaneously, in other words hundreds maybe thousands years pass and didn't even realize time has passed?

3. Physical bodies will be reunited. This part also confuses me. What about decay, skeletons, people who were cremated. How does that work.

Looking forward to learning more.

No one knows everything.

Perhaps it is of a metaphorical nature...

Originally, Christianity was quite similar in many ways to Hinduism.

The term "Chakra" is used in Hinduism to denote the electromagnetic ego boundaries.

While I am not a christian, I used to be when I was younger.

These questions are what many christian children ask their parents when they reach the age of awareness.

There's really only two possible answer groups here:

One is to tell you that it doesn't explain all of this stuff in detail in the bible and the other is to feed your horse crap by basically making up stuff based on their own imagination + current bible knowledge put together.

The second group, which frequently visit here, are the ones you should stay far away from.

The first group, while rare, are honest.

No one knows those answers.

1: No, you are instantly with the Lord in heaven in spirit or in hell awaiting your final judgement.

2: See #1. Instant.

3: Your new body is a new type of body that is indestructible and incorruptible. God knows where every atom of your previous body is regardless of the manner of death.

All of this contrary to the other persons answer is repeated in the bible.

Why didn't you quote scripture then? Don't forget the part about rising out of the graves and THEN being judged...

It's all about interpretation...and all you did was PROVE my point..you took YOUR interpretation and imagination and made a 'fact'

Which is exactly why religion is so dangerous and the definition of Babylon.

Holy Scriptures teach there is no consciousness in death.

There is no immortal soul or personality apart from the body.

The only immortality is the resurrection of the body.

God has the number of our name [ie, our genetic code] written in His book of life.

Not quite, e.g.

He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.
Luke 20:38 … He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken! Mark 12:27

There is no consciousness after death.

Our ONLY immortality is via the resurrection of the body.

The belief that our personality is immortal apart from the body is PAGAN.
It is the LIE the serpent told Eve in the Garden of Eden.

btw... the Bible term, "Holy Scriptures", = Old Testament.

In the New Testament, Jesus' resurrection was said
to be the "firstfruits" of those who "sleep."

Well...that was old testament. After Jesus died...all that changed. Revelation 6:10 says:
"They called out in a loud voice, "How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?"

These are people who died and want to know when justice will be served. So...if they can ask the Lord this...they must be conscious....yes?

Resurrection of the dead:

" But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?

If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.

And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.

More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised.

For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either.

And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.

Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost.

If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.

But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.

For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.

But each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.

Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.

For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.

The last enemy to be destroyed is death. "

The Bible... and especially the book of Revelation is filled with symbolism and imagery.

The Bible speaks of beasts and dragons... these terms are used
as symbols, not to be taken literally.

In Revelation, the martyrs under the altar who cry out to God
is symbolic imagery... like the blood of Abel crying out to God.

The blood of sacrifice was poured under the altar.

So the symbolism of the martyrs under the altar refers
to this imagery... their blood crying out for justice...
same as Abel's blood crying out when Cain murdered him.

Interesting how all those things people said were symbols and imagery for years because they could never imagine what they meant....are seeing them happen today. I believe what the bible says. Either it's real....or it can't be taken seriously.

The Bible is filled with symbolism and imagery.

Jesus spoke to the people in parables and privately
explained His parables to His disciples.

Why ?

Jesus Himself tells you why... because it is not
intended for everyone to understand the secrets
of the kingdom... only those who are chosen.

that isnt right , why does bible mention the second , death , ie spiritual death after judgement ..

either the baptism of fire will keep you here to experience heaven , or when the fire does cleanse the earth , you will go with it , ie the second death
