The prophet Ezekiel (vIsions of the new temple) [a response to "would you rather cease to exist or worship HIM eternally"]
You are presented with an option; the following:

Live your life the way you wish. Quite frankly, any way you wish, throwing all cares and credence to the wind. You are the sole authority in your decisions.
You are moral.
You are immoral.
You love others and deny yourself.
Perhaps you loathe others and see them as weak.
You build. You grow. You live.
You die.
You might even decide to have a family along the way.
Maybe even multiple broken families. You fornicate at will with no thoughts to how it might effect others.
On the other hand, you might wait until you find the right woman.
[i write this speaking as a man; perhaps you wait for the right man, ladies]
The underlying theme and most important thing to take away from this path is this: It is your own. Truly living for yourself.
On your own, without any help or guidance from outside yourself.
After all, it is your life, your choice.

Or

Instead of raising yourself and all your worldly cares and desires to the forefront, You humble yourself.
You ask for guidance.
You put everything in your life on hold and you pray.
Relentlessly. Unceasingly.
And then all of the sudden, all of those things that seemed so important no longer matter. You deny everything that you once deemed important.
You completely renew your life.
You are born again.
No longer living for yourself, but for HIM.
And in return you are forever rewarded with grace, and a nameplace in the Lamb's book of Life.

###

The first path, the broad way, is incredibly easy to follow. It is what we default to. We want to make our own decisions. We wish to see our dreams, our wants, our desires fulfilled. For when they are fulfilled, we are fulfilled.

The latter, the narrow way, is beyond words in difficulty.
For who would ever deny their desires of the flesh? Only he who has the Spirit of God inside him. The Helper can aide in ways unimaginable.

###

The afterlife.

Something every living soul has thought about at one time or another in their brief vapor of mist.

What must one do to make it there? Does it even truly exist?
And for what purpose does it serve?

###

To follow the first path, is to desire to know death. an eternal death.
The consequences and severity of which are eternal damnation.

To follow the alternate route, is to wish to know your creator. For HE wishes to know you.

###

When we live for ourselves, we gratify our sinful nature.

When we live for HIM, we see the fruits of the spirit. (start at verse 16)

The Letter of Paul to the Galatians (Chapter 5)

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
8 This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.
9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.
11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.

13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

###

When we walk by the Spirit, we are walking the path which Christ calls us to.
If we follow that path, and are genuine and sincere in it, we will one day see the temple of the LORD.

A vision of the Prophet Ezekiel, given by the Lord of Hosts:

In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten, in the selfsame day the hand of the Lord was upon me, and brought me thither.

2 In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, by which was as the frame of a city on the south.

3 And he brought me thither, and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate.

4 And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.

[the description given of the temple, is literally pages long; if you wish to read the entirety, [link to www.biblegateway.com]

The glory of the LORD resides in this building.
Believers are going to worship the creator, in this structure.

Ezekiel's vision, continued: (chapter 43)

And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever, and my holy name, shall the house of Israel no more defile, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoredom, nor by the carcases of their kings in their high places.

8 In their setting of their threshold by my thresholds, and their post by my posts, and the wall between me and them, they have even defiled my holy name by their abominations that they have committed: wherefore I have consumed them in mine anger.

9 Now let them put away their whoredom, and the carcases of their kings, far from me, and I will dwell in the midst of them for ever.

He will dwell with us.

Powerful stuff.

But it gets better.

(43 continued: )

10 Thou son of man, shew (show) the house to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities: and let them measure the pattern.

11 And if they be ashamed of all that they have done, shew them the form of the house, and the fashion thereof, and the goings out thereof, and the comings in thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the laws thereof: and write it in their sight, that they may keep the whole form thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and do them.

12 This is the law of the house; Upon the top of the mountain the whole limit thereof round about shall be most holy. Behold, this is the law of the house.

###

He wants us to measure the majesty.
All of the dimensions are there.
Multiple scholars have done outlines and blueprints from ezekiel's description. You can find them online.

I have already written an incredible wall of text... But this is important folks.

People are so quick to criticize the God of the bible.

He only wants you converse with you..
He only wants to know you..

That is why He died for you.

One day, the believers will rejoice and pray and worship inside His holy temple, where his glory has filled the walls and every chamber and there is no darkness because His light is forever fulfilling.

That day is coming soon folks.

If you skipped to the end, please take the time to read it all, or at least take a look.

This is all very real.

I am quite awake and would like to discuss this with some of you, if possible.
Quite curious on your thoughts.

Re: The prophet Ezekiel (vIsions of the new temple) [a response to "would you rather cease to exist or worship HIM eternally"]
Chapter 47 Water Flowing from the Temple

47 Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar.

2 Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way without unto the utter gate by the way that looketh eastward; and, behold, there ran out waters on the right side.

3 And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the ankles.

4 Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through the waters; the waters were to the knees. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters were to the loins.

5 Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over.

6 And he said unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen this? Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the brink of the river.

7 Now when I had returned, behold, at the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other.

8 Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed.

9 And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh.

10 And it shall come to pass, that the fishers shall stand upon it from Engedi even unto Eneglaim; they shall be a place to spread forth nets; their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many.

11 But the miry places thereof and the marishes thereof shall not be healed; they shall be given to salt.

12 And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.

You ever wonder why you never hear about these Scriptures in church ?
I sure do.
The true beauty and wonder of heaven is going to be unlike anything we can imagine. That river... That water...
I dunno about you.. but that sounds like somewhere i want to be.

This is the tip of the iceberg.

We are the temple as the Holy Spirit resides in us..

However, the LORD also gave the jews the tabernacle and clearly gives us the dimensions for a physical building. Although, this is merely a pattern made to resemble the heavenly realm.

edit: while i do not agree 100% with everything the Op states. He does raise some incredibly real questions, and gives a look into how the mechanics of heaven might possibly work and slight glimpses into the heavenly realm.

What does "worship" actually entail? Are there specific things that must be done? How often? Do I have to dress a certain way? When am I done? I don't want to be accused of "Well, that was pretty lame worshiping." So, how do I get the gold star? Y'know, "WOW! That was great worshiping! For that you get..." What? I don't want to put out a lot of effort doing something if all I'm going to get is more milk and honey for Eternity. THAT's lame!

A fair question.

I think that when we see the creator of the universe.. In HIS full glory, sitting on the white throne of judgement.. well i do not think we will even have words.
Completely awe-struck.

Revelation 20:11
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
