20, 30 feet of beach washed away in some areas in Cape Cod

BREWSTER, Mass. —The southeast part of the state is still trying to assess damage from this weekend’s storm, including surveying the massive erosion of the already fragile Cape Cod coastline.
Many property owners on Cape Cod saw 20 to 30 feet of real estate washed away during the weekend storm. The Cape Cod Times reported that massive pieces of shoreline, private and public property, town landings and roadways were swept away.


Brewster Town Administrator Charles Sumner told the paper that selectmen were briefed by Natural Resources Director Chris Miller on "what was really a hugely damaging storm that affected every town beach and landing. The damage is significant."


There is no estimate yet on the total cost to repair damage caused by the storm.


On average, the Cape loses about 1 foot a year to erosion.

This was a really big storm, there are still 5700 homes without power, but the worst thing in my opinion is this mega erosion made by Sandy+Nemo storms in coast! Now ad this next weekend huge storms...
