Question about Latin Americans
I 'white', grew up in neighborhoods mostly with majority 'Hispanic' populations. I've never had any problem with 'Hispanic' people, most of whom I grew up with were Mestizo.

As I got older and came into contact and interacted with 'white' Latin Americans [I mean from Latin America, not Americans of 'Latino' descent] in school, work, wherever, I've found MANY of them to be really conceited, arrogant snobs. Many look down on Mestizos and dislike Americans in general. Am I the only one who has noticed this?

This is a totally serious question, I'm not trolling or being an asshole. I know everybody has their own personalities and so-on and am not trying to generalize too much.

Latin America is too big of a region for generalizations.

Are you talking about people from Mexico, people from Colombia, or people from Chile?

I've found South Americans to be worse than Central Americans and those from the Caribbean. Many have a really nasty, superior attitude.

To be honest, I've known many arrogant black, Asian, snobs, too. 'Pink' white people aren't the only ones. In fact, Asians are probably the worse.

Re: Question about Latin Americans
The origins of Latin American societies differ from American cultures (US & Canada) that were based on the more egalitarian English Common Law. (I know; they treated Native Americans badly but for the purposes of illustrating the basic difference between the 2 regions I'm not going there)

Latin American societies started out more feudal in nature, with a strong distinct ruling class of Spanish and Portuguese descent who lorded it over the natives. Even today Mexico is controlled by 8 'ruling' families.

Spanish Land Grant Law, remnants of which prevailed for many years in the US Southwest as well, did not recognize women as having contractual capacity, as one small example of the vast cultural differences.

Re: Question about Latin Americans
The social classes are very divided down there... which is where we are heading here thanks to O creating a class war.

Argentinians are the worse thanks to all the nazis that migrated there.
