We hold these truths to be self-evident(self evident truth = forehead slapper = duh!)
that all men are created equal(none above you (ruler) or below you (slave))
that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights (life, liberty, etc)
(unalienable Rights come ONLY from the Creator)
That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men(men created government and as its creator, rule over it)
deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed(no man or government has authority over you, without your consent / approval)
That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it(Government acting criminally? divest your authority (withdraw your consent)

In 1868, via the 14th amendment, the government (Congress) created the "US citizen" for the "freed?" slaves.

The Slaves were never free... they were moved from BENEATH the southern plantation owner:

The slaves simple got a NEW MASTER = CONGRESS
The slaves were not freed... and man (creators of government) GAVE UP (contracted away) HIS AUTHORITY for the BENEFITS / PRIVILEGES of being a SLAVE (US citizen).
(social security, unemployment, food stamps, AFDC, federal reserve notes, etc = SERVICES)
