curious to see what you're saying about the new emission standards and such. Seems that its a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things though.

Major trucking companies are accomplices with sexually deviant and abusive drivers -- their "zero tolerance" for harassment is just a public relations scam, as is membership of a company like C.R. England with the organization,"Women In Trucking," which gets loads of money for pumping out press releases and doing absolutely nothing where the rubber meets the road. Yes, there are women pulling down six figure salaries in that organization, who really do not care about conditions for women in the industry - it is just another way of paying for their 4-star vacations every year.
Women who pull that on other women exist at many levels - human resources, safety departments, administration staff. If they themselves are safe, they will throw any 'fresh meat' that comes along to the wolves out there.
FOR; MALE AND FEMALE FUTURE STUDENTS TRYING TO GET INTO TRUCKING:
Be aware that carriers receive a government payout in the form of a tax benefit for every single student that comes to Orientation. Whether that student is ever adequately taught by a so-called trainer to even park in a truckstop parking lot is of no concern to the company.
The accounting department already has you added onto their balance sheet.
This is why some companies have classes for 150-200 students in orientation programs every single week of every single year.
Non-stop verbal abuse, bullying, controlling when you go to the bathroom, preventing showers, starving students because of refusing to stop for meals, while the trainer gulps down his supplies of chips, pop, and energy drinks...
FINALLY: You quit because you can't take the sadism of the trainer freak; he throws you out on the road in the middle of the desert in 120 degree heat, because you ticked him off for some reason you don't even know about. He has called you fXXXing stupid so many times, who can remember?
BUT IF YOU SURVIVE the 1-2 months of training, and still manage to get your own truck from the company... Remember to buy a tazer for the muggings you will face. You will be working on the highways of America. It is a war zone.
