Raising the minimum wage is a guaranteed job killer. If Obama was serious about creating jobs he would've lowered the minimum wage to something like $3/hour. At that rate I'd hire more people but at $9 I have to cut some. Not to worry, a $20 software package will fill the void in no time.

a maximum wage would decrease the supply of whatever the job is. for instance if you have 80k doctors and only a 2% unemployment rate for that particular job(2% is natural and good btw) by decreasing the amount they get paid there is less of an incentive to work in such a proffesion and work in the area that has the rule. i dont have my macro book with me but this is generally the rule

australias minimum wage is $16. AND our dollar is stronger than yours.

Sorry but these minimum wage jobs are for people just starting out or people who are too dumb to realize they need to do something about there life. Why should a business owner have to pay someone with no skills a higher wage to do a job that is not meant for someone with the ability to make something better of themselves.
