The vilage was a good movie, but not his best.

I think SIGNS stands alone as his best, most layered work, but also as a prime example of perfect cinematography, pacing, story, attention to detail. There is not a wasted moment in that entire movie/screenplay. It is efficient and beautiful.

I know he's got it in him to do more of the same, he's just kind of lost his way for awhile, that's all. He's got to find that special connection to his material again and whatever it was that was going on in his life at the time (simpler life, maybe?) and then he'll be back.

I think The Happening and The Last Airbender are both great movies.

Ah jeez guy I just can not agree with you on the Happening. Watched it and I got the vibe that it was supposed to be a joke. I did like The Village though; everyone thinks it's about the conflict between the people and the monster but it is about the bond between the girl and the guy. I can dig that.

I haven't seen Last Airbender though. Guess I will have to redbox it!

The Happening was clearly a GLP movie... they just shouldn't have used the kooky hippie guy to get the point across - that is what killed it (and made it seem like a joke). Up until that moment it was going strong. Also, they took the cheap way out and made it "all over with" too fast. He also probably should have killed everyone off.

But despite its flaws, I have watched it several times anyways :-D

You know, I like the village way more than the happening. The village was not that great, but it was good.

Signs though, don't get me started on signs. In fact, I think I just figured out my go to bed movie...

the first two minutes are the key to the twist ending...

YES! One of his most un-noticed and under rated movies! Bruce Willis, Samuel L Jackson, epic story!

Anyone who thinks "The Last Airbender" is a great movie, never bothered to watch the series it was asked upon. He ruined all the characters. Uncle Iroh was not amused.

I liked Signs a lot. Never saw the Happening, was put off by the IMBD rating but it could be attributed to the acting.

Nah, the happening was not that great. Some good parts and drama, but it ends up like your basic shamalayn movie.

SIGNS still scares me...
