I really liked the Village.

It really seems like people who watch his movies really have strong opinions one way or the other. Each movie is different to each individual. Hate one movie but then really love another one. Kinda interesting thing I noticed among my own friends in regards to his movies.

Its funny because i like all his movies. Theyre like fully fleshed out twilight zone episodes. Some unfold better than others but all have entertained me. I think the six sense was actually one of his weakest, unbreakable strongest, but he really messed up the ending with bad editing choices, had he stuck the ending better it may have been perfect. The onscreen text was really poor imo. Signs and village are both well done.

Imo it became very hip to put down nights movies aside from sixthbsense.

Re: M. Night Shyamalan, I know you're reading this.
Signs was by far one of my favorite movies of his, that and the village. as i watched Signs for the first time, i recalled some old UFO footage from a tv show that i used to watch back in the early 90's called "Sightings" which showed a family birthday party that was being filmed by family members which was interrupted by the electricity being cut and weird sounds and lots of running around in the dark ala blair witch. and after watching the special features where M. Night Shamylan recounts his inspirations for SIGNS - THE SAME STOCK FOOTAGE FROM SIGHTINGS I HAD REMEMBERED. apparently im not the only SCI FI nut around here that watched that show! lol. just thought it was funny..

Oh cool.. I thought this was gonna be a haters thread and was juicing up to reply with exactly what the OP said! Or to put it in my own words, i'm not a fan of his other films but Signs.. man thats a great film.. great cast, great story, all of it. I easily teared up on many scenes which almost never happens with me. Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix, awesome. The actors who played the kids, awesome. Even HIS cameo was riveting.

Also, as a sci-fi nut Signs rates up there in my top 10 and yet it's the least sci-fi movie about an ET invasion one can imagine. Simply great human drama set in hugely intrigueing circumstances, thankyou M for that if nothing else!
