Bird goes Fishing with Bread

I don't know if I've ever seen a critter use bait.....amazing.

I go fishing alot and that is awesome...


Best fishing story I have is I caught a large largemouth bass on a pinecone and a net. True story.

I was fishing with a couple of friends at night once, you know 18-20 year old's (several years back) a few beers in and I though I had become snagged but it kept reeling in so then I thought okay just a big piece of drift wood.....got it up to the light of the lantern and low and behold a flipping snapping turtle. LOL.

Had a night like that once, and ended up catching a 30lb 3ft long channel catfish, was a couple pounds from a state record. Biggest fish I ever caught and is prob a lake record up where im at.

When I was a kid I bugged my mom to take me fishing for months so that I could use this Zebco rod and reel I got for Christmas. Finally, she took me out to lake Jacomo in MO. I stood on the bank and dropped a bare hook in the water... didn't know anything about bait.

I caught a large bass... my mom was so pissed. It wasn't until I was older that I figured it out -- no bait was supposed to mean no fish... and her plans did not work out.

Fortunately, there was a guy nearby who came over and took the fish off the hook for me. My mom let him have the fish. We went straight home...

How did the bird know that fish like bread?

i have a dog that hunts birds for snacks by winging one and catching the others that are attracted by it's flapping about.

she even knows where to hide where her coat blends in to the terrain.

it worked it out itself, however it can't teach it's offspring this trick.

birds would rule the world if it could.

Amazing! Every creature is evolving at rapid speed. That is one smart cutie patutie.

Interesting part to me was that he knew exactly when to strike the fish. It was perfect baiting technique, grab them when they aren't expecting it.

That was amazing. The bird was quite deliberate and appeared to realize what the outcome of its actions would be. I know 16 year old boys who don't even know what the outcomes of their actions would be, so I say this bird is smarter in some ways than a 16 year old boy....lolol.

Bird is a shill for bread and fish companies. Ban him.

It's a green heron, I have these and kingfishers where I live.

Damn... I thought it was a Kingfisher. Looks a lot like one. I tried to find one that had the same colors and couldn't (over 90 types), that's obviously why...

Didn't know it was a Green Heron. Thanks for the info. Is that of the kingfisher family? I looked on an image search. It has been so long since I have seen an actual Kingfisher I was not sure if it was. Man, I don't remember them being so small.


Either way, the UFC (Unified Filed of Consciousness) is strong with this one!
