Just found your site after doing some googling on Peter the Roman

I have arrived at somehow the same conclusions as some users here but with a little twist

I'll post something i wrote on another site

Check this scenario...

There's nothing that says Peter the Roman is a Pope, only that he will pasture his sheep in "the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church'.
Even the phrases used for the previous popes is not of similar type,
instead of a metaphorical description, there's simply a name AND there's no number next to his name.
Some people suggested it means Peter is the same as the last pope (265 or 112). I say he's the leader of the church but not a pope.

And like some said, all of the cardinals KNOW the prophecy and will surely NOT pick someone named Peter

So hypothetically, how can the prophecy fulfill, with all these elements ?

Let's recapitulate : there's some persecution, a leader (but not necessarily a pope) named Peter Romanus. If you want to add the Pius prophecy " The Pope will quit Rome, and in leaving the Vatican he will have to walk over the dead bodies of his priests" then we can deduce this convoluted plot.

The conclave will get together to elect a pope.

Something happens, they all die, all the cardinals : a bomb, poison, whatever

Can't vote for a new pope

Who now will run the church ?

The camerlingo who's already running it during the Interregnum

Irony : Tarcisio is an anagaram for Iscariot ! Judas !

He will NOT be a pope, there's no cardinals left to vote him in

But he is the leader of the church, who is now in a severe tribulation after a huge persecution

and for Pius ? well Benedict is still a pope albeit 'emeritus'. If such accident happens he will have to vacate Rome, walking over the bodies of his dead priests

Voila !! it all fits

and as for "I saw Satan as lightning fall from the heavens" ?

Hours after the resignation of the (last) pope, Satan enters the scene at the right moment ! (and fulfills another prophecy !

Betcha he's going to destroy all those cardinals !
