How you get there is your choice. The rest is just background noise... but you're still the one deciding what you're listening to.

I read many books but I couldn't say which one brought me to any understanding. I hardly read any books anymore. The last one of importance may have been the Ashtavakra Gita. Now I just resonate with writings and saying that I come across such as by Ramana Maharshi.

Ramana Maharshi: There is an absolute Self from which a spark proceeds as from a fire. The spark is called the ego. In the case of an ignorant man it identifies itself with an object simultaneously with its rise. It cannot remain independent of such association with objects.

The association is ajnana or ignorance and its destruction is the object of our efforts. If its objectifying tendency is killed it remains pure, and also merges into the source. The wrong identification with the body is dehatma buddhi [`I am the body' idea]. This must go before good results follow.

The `I` in its purity is experienced in intervals between the two states or two thoughts. Ego is like that caterpillar which leaves its hold only after catching another. Its true nature can be found when it is out of contact with objects or thoughts.

This ghostly ego which is devoid of form comes into existence by grasping a form; grasping a form it endures; feeding upon forms which it grasps it waxes more; leaving one form it grasps another form, but when sought for it takes to flight.

Only if that first person, the ego, in the form `I am the body', exists will the second and third persons [you, he, they, etc.] exist. If by one's scrutinizing the truth of the first person the first person is destroyed, the second and third persons will cease to exist and one's own nature which will then shine as one will truly be the state of Self.

The thought `l am this body of flesh and blood' is the one thread on which are strung the various other thoughts. Therefore, if we turn inwards enquiring `Where is this I?' all thoughts (including the `I'-thought) will come to an end and Self-knowledge will then spontaneously shine forth.

Your self is already ensconced in grace as it simultaneously wallows in filth. As there is no movement but conciousness you choose where to fixate first in action and then the rationalization which enshrines your state.

In all our questions. We can only rationalize where we are. As locality is as important in being as what we perceive to be free choice.

Stillness requires release from the desire to establish equilibrium in motion as it is immersed in potentiality. None of which i have witnessed by any who have posted on this thread.

The quick wittedness of the ego is using another's ego for a footing. Simulating temporal equilibrium. Projected base-line. Yet it is not true equilibrium.

Stillness is encapsulated through the release of velocity as consciousness becomes momentum for the motion observed by the senses and simutaiously does not depend upon the senses to establish equilibrium.

Equilibrium is the patterned skin of knowing absolute potential and infinite transition. The razors edge of stillness with the capacity of riding the unconcious carrier.

Therein lies the rub. With no memory we assume nothing.

Memory, creates and establishes dynasties within consciousness through preferential sensory impact/ evaluation processing. Entire kingdoms are built within the mind as memory to establish quantification.

The sensation memory provides establishes further diliberation through quantification by creating the ego to establish a projected (future tense) base-line. Thus simulation of stability in motion.

fabrication would be a more accurate term then creation as it relates to 'kingdoms' established and ruled by perpetuation of projected base-line ie ego in memory through sensory stimulation..
