How Many MINIMUM WAGE Hours Does it Take to Afford an Apartment in Your State?

Yep ... exactly. Im near the ocean.. in Cali.. and we have section 8 housing up the ass here in my building.

I pay 1600 for a 2 bd. But Im fairly certain my neighbor pays 400.00 for his 2 bd. Thats also the thing with Cali.
Every new apt complex being built today, must include a certain number of section 8 rentals in their buildings.

So we have all sorts of rif raff here by the beach now, because of section 8 housing. And they wont stop building.

81 on average for my state, however, in the many small towns here it costs very little.
I haven't seen minimum wage since 97', so no complaints.

If you live in a Profitable state and are ambitious You should do well. Now I live in Cali, I have a trade degree in Culinary, and iv been working since I was 16(23 now).
I work around 45 or so hours a week making 10 buckers an hour(tax Free). Cant afford to move out by my self . With my Gf making 10 an hour we Still afford cant move out(we live with her parents)In Stockton CA.Okay so we could move out. But have you Ever seen this city? The places we could afford Are here are.. Ghetto as Ghetto. and driving an hour in any direction shits more expensive.
Tried starting our own food truck to make real money. But the way this state is laid out, You cant do shit. I'm also trying to start a firearm Business. But the way things are headed in that direction.. Still cant do shit.
So LA LA LA LA. So what am i gonna do? Suck it up n keep saving.. Or wait for war to come n just have everybody kill them selves then Rebuild! Either way every one dies someday. So just do what you can do and Do it hard.

I LEFT IN 89. Between the two of us we made over six figures and the best we could afford was a one bedroom apartment conversion condo with one parking spot and no laundry room. $250 per month in PMI alone.

In our area of Michigan you can get a one bedroom place (non-subsidized, in a good neighborhood) for $350/month, heat/water/sewer/trash included. ^^

Chico

Red Bluff

Reading isn't bad. Cost of living is more than the others I named but it's nice.

If you like small mountain towns Chester is nice. Anywhere up near lake Almanor.

Bay Area is ridiculously expensive. I have heard a lot of stories like yours.

I think we ought to completely eliminate the entire welfare system -- along with every single one of their fat, ugly, overpaid, lazy, dishonest Bureaucrats.

Then, just take the money saved from that wasteful, vile program (and all of the hundreds of others just as stupid and worthless) -- and distribute it equally among ALL legal US citizens.

Likewise, Congress needs to stop government funding of Corporations and Religions. Money saved from those illegal enterprises would also be distributed EQUALLY to ALL legal US citizens.

That way, we would ALL have the EQUAL OPPORTUNITY under the Law, to become good little CAPITALISTS.

I Don't work in Culinary any more. All the restaurants i worked at closed down with in 6 months. Not my fault.. but after 4 places. you start to wonder.
My Gf works at a restaurant with that pay... But the place is struggling do to Excessive "specials" spending. Seems alot of restaurants don't utilize there Products. I work in an auto shop now. don't do much besides answer phone calls, Drive places, and Enlighten my self with whats going on. I think i just need to get out of cali ASAP.

Maybe i should just join the millions on SSI! Let the Gov Support me while I plot to destroy it!
