I don't really see that the two are related. Waterboarding is not supposed to actually cause physical harm, but that's another debate. Torture is something you do to a captive that you have already rendered defenseless. That is why it is morally questionable. A drone strike in a theatre of war against an enemy combatant is no different than hitting them with a round from a tank, or bomber, or helicopter if a missle that is out of sight miles away. Killing the enemy is what you are supposed to do in war.

The problem with the recent drone strikes is the question of whether or not there is an active war it is associated with. The idiots running the country for the last decade have repeated over and over that we are not at war with Islam while gravely ignoring the fact that Islam is at war with us.

So, in nations where we are supposed to be at war there is a building on one side of the street full of Muslims who honestly tell us they want to kill us and make bombs to do so. On the other side of the street is a building with Muslims who lie about not wanting to kill us who finance and give political and sometimes physical aid and cover to the ones across the street. They both want us dead, but we are supposed to believe that it's ok to hit one building and not the other. It's insane.

... oh, and if an American citizen travels to a war zone and puts his treasonous ass in either one of those buildings he should be shot down like any other enemy in a theatre of war.
