I usually don't do anything because holidays\birthdays\anniversary's are stupid. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22491741 You have a great loving "Low Maintenance wife" then. Its not the amount of money spent that counts, it is the thought. |

We live paycheck to paycheck struggling to make ends meet. When I gave her the card, she smiled and said "You didn't have to buy a card for me, you could have just made one out of paper or write me a note." I realized then that she didn't desire anything more than words on paper to make her happy. |

It was a pic of a guys sack that was shaped like a heart! but I knew it would make her laugh and it did, those high maintenance wives would be so pissed! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 13127957 My wife doesn't desire high priced fancy stuff. All I had to do was give her a simple $3.00 valentines day card and she was happy with that. A lot of people are married to "High Maintenance" women that want expensive flowers, gifts, and diamonds to make them happy. It is wonderful to have a "Low Maintenance Wife". Anyone out there that have a "High Maintenance" wife that wants expensive things to make them happy? Share your "Low Maintenance" or "High Maintenance" wife stories. Tightass |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 13127957 Sometimes we just go to the card aisle and pick out cards for each other to read right then and there. We have a good picking our funny or sentimental ones, put them back and do the rest of our shopping. |

We don't do father's/mother's day or any of those 'days'. It got to be too stressful and frankly, silly. Why let society dictate how you show appreciation to someone else? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1550123 exactly! I'm female and in a long term relationship and I could give two fucks about valentines day. I don't need a fancy dinner and a bunch of candy or flowers or expensive bullshit to know that my boyfriend loves me. He proves that every day by allowing me to live in his house, providing for me and caring about me. He lets me know he loves me by telling me, or doing simple things that allow me to get through my life more easily. I'd much rather have that than a diamond. the fact that so many women are outraged by getting nothing or something they deem as 'not good enough' confuses me. 1963 Moving Target Champion I am only a patsy... |

Those things are nice, but I just really enjoy spending time with my husband, because he's my best friend and a lot of fun. On Monday, we went on a sixteen mile bike ride together. We ride bikes, play tennis, ride scooters together or go for a ride on his Harley for fun. Tonight I made a delicious pasta dinner and a homemade chocolate cake from scratch. I love to make delicious food for my family and friends to enjoy. |

I suppose that is how they gauge how much their boyfriend/husband loves them. Sad. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 13127957 United States 02/14/2013 09:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My wife cooked me a dozen brownies and asked me to take a hike with her in the woods this weekend. That is what she wanted for valentines day. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 13127957 Awww, she just wanted to spend time with you. That is love. Yes, she told me how much she loved me and wanted to spend more time with me. That is all she wanted. This makes me appreciate my wife more than ever. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 959969 Canada 02/14/2013 09:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What the hell for? You're lucky he doesn't trade your sorry ass in for something better? IF he loves you, then he'll tell you everyday and he'll make sure you know it. Your job is to feed him, fuck him and put him to bed. And that's all you have to do. Other than that, whatever floats your boat. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 28167778 United States 02/14/2013 10:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Usually that's code for not a hot wife. Usually. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 32619552 Low maintenance and hot are almost mutually exclusive. I just settle for "not crazy" these days.... Hmm, was reading this thread wondering if any post would seem like the one to reply to..... Yours is it. You are right, sadly, for the most part. remember the old song - " if you wanna be happy for the rest of your life make an ugly woman your wife.." I am PROUD, however, to a low-maintenance PRETTY wife!! Here is MY theory: Looks will get a woman really far, but if you only rely on LOOKS, you will not stay happy. Many attractive women learn that a combination of looks and love - love for others, for the Lord, for the wonderful world created for us - is the best way. I believe no woman with good heart is ugly. A smile, an inner spark, is worth more than transitory beauty. My beauty, I hope, is in how I make others feel. A woman of valor, whose value is above rubies , that is the way to go. |
