7 page letter calling out EVERYTHING. The reasons I'm not around and won't be for long.

In a lot of ways, it hurt me to write everything out. I didn't want to hurt anyone, but as the saying goes, truth hurts.

The way I did it wasn't singling out anyone. They all had their parts to read then the separate part telling them to question the shepherd of society and wake up.

Funny how when everyone knows the truth the pain, anger, deceit and fear just vanish.

People need to hear the truths. That not everything is perfect and routine. That eventually we are all judged not by one another, but by god.

I said to them, why continue the charade? Why put more investment into material when none of it will help with what is to come?

I remember one of the Hopi signs is the youth returning to their ways.

A life like his dreams this wolf chose to weave

On his own in the dark the wolf could not see
Nobody was telling him what to believe

When he questioned what truly made him free
It was always the moonlight guiding thee

I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me. ... Thank you!

Too much to put here.

Basically everything I ever knew was a lie and I figured it out on my own.

We have several outcasts who were "druggies" or "losers" that actually are very good people, they just don't come around because of the drama.

I became an outcast when I was a "star" in a sense at first. But we do what we must.

I feel a sense of rebirth knowing I was intelligent enough to leave the charade they were sucked up in.

I can totally relate. I have been contemplating taking the same letter approach but I just don't want the emotional strain and drain of writing it all down and having to face it again myself.

I have to tell you, though, there is much strength that comes from just looking at the situation for what it is and then detaching (as much as possible) and taking a deep emotional breath.

So many people in my family were the total opposite of what I perceived and believed them to be and I was nearly destroyed to find out the truth. Now my attitude is THANK GOD I DID FIND OUT. I don't waste half of the time or the energy that I used to on them. I somehow sense you feel the same.

My heart goes out to you....

Absolutely!

For instance, the grandmother I tried so hard to show affection to all the time was the one who put it in my dads mind I wasn't his, ultimately leading he and my mother to divorce and change the course of our lives forever.

Yeah. Deep.

So if I leave them, who am I hurting?

If I stay, who am I hurting?

I have a life to live, not a program.

Good for you. I hope you have truly examined your life, and improved your life as much as you can in every area, and continue to remain humble and try to grow, and you give thanks to the creator- God! If so, you are wise, and your life is a success!

I hope your letter helps your family members.

My first thoughts, however, are not positive ones.

I fear your family, especially the ones most entrenched and committed and misguided by the debt-based economy/American dream/consumerist paradigm will just shake their heads and say, "The old bird has finally lost it. Now, what is the least expensive retirement home in the neighboring state?"
Currently working on:
Bach: Invention No. 1
Joplin: Maple Leaf Rag
Mendelssohn: Tarantella Op.102 no.3
Mendelssohn: Venetian Boat Song Op. 19 no. 6 (both from 'Songs Without Words')

Hahaha!

I'm 20!

But they always called me old man...

Because I didn't agree with their shenanigans.

I am old at heart though. I already feel like life is past its prime for me.

I'm at peace. Trying to spread love in everything I do.

Making my life on my own makes me feel so much better.

I would say built. Throwing out all of it at once for all to see let them deal with their qualms in their own way.

I basically just said if you really truly want me around, be real. No more fakery and no more hurt. Otherwise, I'm not going to be around.

I can dig that....I made the same move...but in a bit harsher tone....and I've always sorta regretted it....

You gotta be you......but they gotta be them too, ya know?
