I have been having a hard time wraping my head around the circular nature of the "so called impact area" I looked up the Tunguska event and found some similarities,actually a lot of them.

Some dude (Leonid Kulik) did an expedition to the site


Here's a taste

Upon closer examination, Kulik located holes which he erroneously concluded were meteorite holes; however, he did not have the means at this time to excavate the holes.

During the next ten years there were three more expeditions to the area. Kulik found several dozens of little "pothole" bogs, each some 10 to 50 metres (33 to 160 ft) in diameter, that he thought might be meteoric craters. After a laborious exercise in draining one of these bogs (the so-called "Suslov’s crater", 32 metres [105 ft] in diameter), he found there was an old stump on the bottom, ruling out the possibility that it was a meteoric crater.

Many ran to the windows to see what was happening .When the blast wave hit the windows they were looking through exploded in their faces.many are now blind.

Dunno if anyone cares but, my daughter and I just witnessed a meteor burning up in the western sky over Cali just about a half hour ago. It burned white and green and lasted for a few seconds till we lost sight of it at the horizon.

I've seen several posts tonight talking about seeing fireballs or meteors from across the US - tonight! I've been trying to get on www.meteorscan.com for their live feed, but the screen is frozen on the same shot as when the Russian meteor hit. Anyone else having problems accessing a live feed? I'd like to know if there is abnormal activity tonight.

The multiple bursts would seem to indicate the pieces coming off the the meteor were breaking the sound barrier every couple seconds? Why is there more than one pop?

Isn't it amazing how this was caught on a billion cameras, but we don't have any footage of a plane going into the DoD?
