I've been trying to get on www.meteorscan.com for their live feed, but the screen is frozen on the same shot as when the Russian meteor hit. Anyone else having problems accessing a live feed? I'd like to know if there is abnormal activity tonight. Quoting: justanothergranny try this link>>> [link to www.merriott-astro.co.uk] Thanks! I'll try it. Anonymous Coward User ID: 30111446 United States 02/16/2013 12:42 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | How come no one has found it ironic, that a meteor hit a zinc factory? Zinc is one of the minerals that is mined from asteroid mining? Now lets say DA14 had a large deposit of zinc in it, and is in the process of being mined in space or lassoed into orbit around the moon, or earth to be mined closer to earth. If the Russian meteor was a man made event, you could see how taking out a zinc factory or business competitor would be cornering the market for your newly created asteroid mining company. As always follow the money. Planetary Resources Investors and key figures James Cameron: Film Director of The Terminator, Aliens, The Abyss, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, True Lies, Titanic, Dark Angel, and Avatar Ross Perot, Jr: Chairman of the board for PerotSystems, which is now owned by Dell. Larry Page: Co-founder of Google, and current CEO Eric Schmidt: Previous Google CEO and current executive chairman. Also on BOD for Apple. Rather interesting that Google went on a trip N. Korea, and N. Korea recently is "testing" space rockets. Not to mention the fact that the REAL stories have been burried by this (US offically reached the debt ceiling today soon to default, G20 meeting, and Supreme court is hearing arguments about Obama forging Government Documents), MSM covered it, and that it plays into the staged bible prophecies set to test the faith of millions. All of these events are staged, man made, or completely made up for the purpose of furthering there agenda, and/or hiding it from the masses. |

Quoting: northerntomcat 33077229 When you throw a square stone in a lake does it make a square ripple? The kinetic energy disperses in a round pattern. Hope this helps. In the solid state, chemical bonds are stronger than the kinetic energy of the atoms. The atoms are locked into their crystal lattice positions. Kinetic energy dispersal in solids is much lower. Energy would still radiate similar to seismic waves, but the ice wouldn't fracture in a circle. Does ice have cleavage? look at the moon see the shape of those creators????? round. impact creator are always round....it is physics. Your physics are very much flawed then. Trjectory is everything!! Actually at the energy levels involved in a large body impactor its your physics that are flawed [link to www.scientificamerican.com] "At the moment an asteroid collides with a planet, there is an explosive release of the asteroid's huge kinetic energy. The energy is very abruptly deposited at what amounts to a single point in the planet's crust. This sudden, focused release resembles more than anything else the detonation of an extremely powerful bomb. As in the case of a bomb explosion, the shape of the resulting crater is round: ejecta is thrown equally in all directions regardless of the direction from which the bomb may have arrived." |

A lack of underwater visibility, as well as a thick – up to 1.5 meters – layer of ooze were cited as the main reasons for failure. Six divers spent three hours searching for solid objects in the mud but finally gave up. Water samples taken from the lake have also shown nothing unusual. Ummmmm.....
