So those who are single should remain so because of the times? Does this just mean seeking a mate? Or to refrain all together?

I have always wondered why this verse is placed in the Bible. Maybe.... everything was set off balance when righteous Able was killed dead and his intended wife was taken by self serving Lamech. Somehow, I believe that God had matched perfectly each bride and groom from the beginning, until sin entered in and now everyone does their own picking and choosing to the destruction of peace in most cases.

Lost in the garden - and the loss is revealed now everyday in everyway. People trying regain on their own terms what was taken away. Even in the best of marriages, all compromise, because it, marriage, is out of step with the order that existed - God still blesses the family even in this godforsaken soon to be destroyed world of death
