It is believed that the incident may be connected to asteroid 2012 DA14,

How can someone claim that a meteor seen hitting in a northern hemisphere location is "connected" to an asteroid which is approaching steeply from the southern hemisphere? The meteor had to have been approaching from a completely different orbit than 2012 DA14... I swear, RT is trying to make CNN look good on this asteroid by comparison. SO HOW COME NASA DID NOT SEE THIS THING??? What else have they missed? The russians and NASA keep saying it was coming from the Sun and that is why the russians didn't see it. BUT THE AMERICANS HAD NIGHT at that time, not to mention that the russians had NIGHT only hours before the metoer shower hit !!! They either see it earlier and didn't say anything OR they didn't see it and they know about the same about anything else, meaning squat.
