It's magnificiently difficult to observe this thing that we are, and all existence because it exists in all of us and in everywhere where is light. It is said that beauty is in the eyes of the BEHOLDer, but everything else also is, defined by this existence that reigns in our core selves. To really see it, you should die or experience a real hell/purgatory/"purification", which is possible though ingestion of combination of certain substances and preparation, but certainly you won't see this so-called egregore in our everyday 3D dimension, maybe through some secret esoteric teachings or Eleysian mysteries that aren't in public sight, and if they are it's difficult to comprehend. And it's pretty hard to take that you have absolutely NO POWER over it, it's really a terrific machination, though it seems pretty crazy to even think of its existence..

What you seem to refer from my point of view OP, is the absolute freedom from this illusion that brings forth all beings, though to describe it is impossible through words, but if one could "tap" into the emptiness of reality as it truely is, it would be possible to do many things, to manifest your own reality. Perhaps the purpose of this egregore is for you to recognize it, to find out how it operates, and ultimately grow out of it. Sounds like fantasy though, haha.

It's one or the other.
