Indoor vs outdoor radiation readings?
The outdoor background and random indoor commercial building average here is around 6 uSv/h, while indoors at my house it is around 20 uSv/h (can't get the stupid U looking symbol to show up on here).

It's always been like that, higher inside my home than it is outside or in other buildings.
I thought it was due to the brick because people say that brick can read higher.

But, the Geiger counter still reads low in other brick buildings around here that I've done a measurement in, and it even reads low right next to the brick on the outside of my home.

Am I fucking radioactive? O_o

Re: Indoor vs outdoor radiation readings?
It is probably a high radon level.

Google it and what you can do about it, like ventilating.

This has been every place I've lived in while possessing a Geiger.

Could it really just be from lack of ventilating radon? What, does everyone else do a better job at keeping the windows open? I don't live in basements where it normally settles just for the record. Meh, will try airing out the house and see if the numbers drop.

Re: Indoor vs outdoor radiation readings?
it happen often here in Italy when houses are built on volcanic rocks as they contains uranium and it product radon... I measure 0.17 to 0.20 here and is pretty normal for this zone.
why don't you measure an house before to go to live in it instead after? peace

If you prefer ridiculous answers I active the ridiculous mode:

[ridiculous mode on]

Have you tried to measure your belly? tounge

Maybe you are kidnapped by aliens... everyone knows when aliens enter often in a zone or in a house/room they make it radioactive... cool2

The highest readings in the house are in the kitchen on the side with the tiles. There may be something to that.
I used to freak myself out thinking it was the food until I realised it was pretty much the entire wall.
