The pictures of the 25' hole in the ice covered lake. How can something going 33,000 miles per hour hit the lake and not cause enough underwater disturbance to totally destroy the ice. Hell, here were people standing there within feet of the hole. I would have thought the whole top of the lake would have been ice chips with minor flooding in the areas around the lake.

Same happens to a Asteroid it hits the outer layers of the atmosphere and its speed energy, gets transforms to heat, the atmsophere is like a break, the remaining rock will fall down at about 400km/h roughly 250mp/h. It lost all it´s energy before it hit the ground it´s like dropping a stone from a skyscraper same speed.
