Zionism was founded in 1896 by Austrian journalist Theodor Herzl (another Austrian trying to seal the fate of jews ... this time from within the jewish community)

You all know, Hitler was Austrian too, isn't it intriguing?

What is Zionism?

Zionism is a movement founded by Theodor Herzl in 1896 whose goal is the return of Jews to Eretz Yisrael, or Zion, the Jewish synonym for Jerusalem and the Land of Israel.

The name of "Zionism" comes from the hill Zion, the hill on which the Temple of Jerusalem was situated.

Supporters of this movement are called "Zionists".

Today there is much confusion among Jews over the meaning of the term Zionism. It means different things to different people.

The reason for this is that historically, Zionism has been a movement dominated by secularist Jews. Herzl and most of his colleagues were assimilated Jews, who did not believe in or practice the Torah. Some Zionists were vehemently anti-religious, and saw the Torah and mitzvos as outdated rituals with no place in their modern state.

Yet the essence of the Zionist idea - that Jews should return to the Holy Land and establish a government - is not inherently secular, and in fact the Zionist movement had some religious members from the very beginning.

Some Jews today use Zionism as a synonym for Israeli secularism, and thus support the State of Israel while claiming to be anti-Zionist. These people's only complaint about the State of Israel is that it is not religious enough. They hope for the day when the state will be dominated by the religious parties.

But this is not the meaning of the term Zionism as used on this site. When we talk about Zionism here, we are refering to the concept that Jews should rise up, emancipate themselves from exile without waiting for the messiah, and establish a Jewish government in the Holy Land. Using Jewish texts, we demonstrate that this concept is against the Torah and has been opposed by rabbis in all generations.

There have been hundreds of rabbis over the past century who spoke out against the Zionist movement. But because of the ambiguity of the term, it is not always possible to prove that a given rabbi meant to oppose the concept of Zionism, rather than just secularism. For this reason, religious Zionists often make the claim that much rabbinic opposition to Zionism was only because it was a secular movement. On the "Rabbinic Quotations" section of this site, we have avoided this confusion by carefully selecting those quotations that are clearly against the concept of Zionism itself. As the reader will see, these quotations alone are enough proof that almost all of the greatest sages and leaders of the Jewish people opposed the establishment of a Jewish state.

Well, you may not be aware of that, but i am sure there is some muslims in Vienna with Austrian passport, which looks exactly like Theodor Herzl, but hey, its written in "The Handy History Answer Book", that Theodor Herzl, the founder of Zionism was Austrian, like Adolf Hitler, and if you dont like that fact, then just sue "The Handy History Answer Book", because there is no other way for you guys, to manipulate history and its books anytime soon. You had your 100 years in manipulation and deception! The new true history books will be written by the victors of the next war!

Btw, I think Adolf Hitler looks as Austrian as Theodor Herzl is looking, obviously both jewish too, but Theodor Herzl looks more like a muslim, if you want my humble opinion ...

Not sure what your thread is trying to prove, but the idea of Zion and Zionist was not of man but of God and has been spoken of often in the primitive Church and in early Chritianity, well before 1896. It has been twisted out of it's true context by the men you are speaking of and many more.

The city of David was called Zion, 1 Kgs. 8:1
Out of Zion shall go forth the law, Isa. 2:2–3.
The Redeemer shall come to Zion, Isa. 59:20
I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion, Jer. 3:14
In mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, Joel 2:32.

If I may, I believe ^this^ is the point of the thread.

The nation calling itself "Israel" is actually Esau, in an ironic reversal of the Genesis 17 masquerade. They can drop the name "zion" all they like, but that won't eclipse their misdeeds. The time of calling evil "good" and good "evil" is over.

Well this thread is proofing that another austrian jew is trying to undermine and discredit true religious jewry and judaism in general. This time the negative forces try to distort judaism from within, in the form of atheistic "jews" posing as true jews, but they act like the bloodiest thugs of history, in order to blame it on judaism in order to create a global outcry, to initiate another round of witch hunts against jews.

In reality these thugs are atheist zionists - a racist, fanatical, fascist and truly anti-semitic (towards truly religious jews!) group of people supporting each other through a vast global criminal network.

Of course this new attempt of atheist Zionism to take over religious judaism, will fail as poorly as Hitler failed in his attempt to eradicate all true jews.

A good ol' brainwash a day doesn't keep Christ away!

The cult of atheist Zionism posing as Judaism

By Rich Siegel

This essay was first published in Beyond Tribal Loyalties: Personal Stories of Jewish Peace Activists. (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2012)

January 1, 2012

I consider myself a cult survivor. I was raised in the cult of Atheist-Zionism-Posing-as-Judaism. I stated this to a few select friends several years ago, and they thought it was funny. The statement brought with it a pregnant pause, as though a punch line was going to follow, as though I were telling a joke. No punch line. I'm serious. More recently, subsequent to Israel's 2006 Lebanon war and the massacre in Gaza of 2008-2009, I find that I can say this and it is taken seriously. People know that something is very seriously wrong with Israel, and with the culture that supports Israel. They may not understand it, but they're more open than they were.

My family's involvement with Zionism goes back to its beginnings. It includes a grandfather who fought with the Jewish Legion to "liberate" Palestine from the Turks in WWI, great-great-grandparents who went to Jerusalem for their retirement in the 1920's, the best buddy of an uncle who smuggled arms from Czechoslovakia to Jewish terrorist groups in Palestine in the lead-up to the 1948 war, grandparents who were officers in their local B'nai Brith1 chapter, and a cousin who was involved in "Operation Mural"2. He currently represents Jewish/Zionist NGOs at the United Nations office in Geneva. His wife writes Muslim-bashing books under a pseudonym.

During my childhood, Zionism and Israel were held up on a pedestal. They were central to our existence, our identity, our raison d'être. They were our sub-cultural equivalent of "Mom and apple pie". I grew up convinced that they were perfect and beyond reproach. There was simply nothing in my environment to indicate otherwise. Finding out that I had been lied to all my life, and that I had been supporting something that I would never have supported had I been told anything resembling the truth, has been absolutely shattering.

Re: Zionism was founded in 1896 by Austrian journalist Theodor Herzl (hmmm, another Austrian trying to seal the fate of jews ...)
Distinguishing between atheist Zionism and Judaism

In the summer of 1982 there began a great savagery that caused the whole world to cry out in protest. The Israeli Army entered Lebanon in a sudden attack, and moved forward destroying every target that appeared before it. The Israelis surrounded the refugee camps, where Palestinians lived who had fled the Israeli occupation years before, and for two days used Lebanese Christian militias to slaughter innocent civilians. Within a few days, thousands of innocent people had been massacred.

This terrible Israeli terrorism outraged the whole world. The interesting thing, however, is that some of the protests came from jewish people, even Israeli jewish people. Professor Benjamin Cohen of Tel Aviv University penned a statement on June 6, 1982, saying:

I am writing to you while listening to a transistor that has just announced that 'we' are in the process of 'realizing our objectives' in Lebanon: to insure 'peace' for the residents of Galilee. These lies worthy of Goebbels make me mad. It is clear that this savage war, more barbaric than any of those preceding it, has nothing to do with the attempt in London or the security of Galilee ... jewish people, sons of Abraham ... jewish people, victims themselves of so much cruelty, how can they become so cruel? ... The greatest success of Zionism is the 'dejudaisation' of the jewish people. 1

Benjamin Cohen was not the only Israeli to oppose the Israeli occupation of Lebanon. Many Jewish intellectuals living in Israel condemned the savagery carried out by their own state.

This attitude was not restricted to the occupation of Lebanon. Israel’s oppression of the Palestinians, its insistence on its policy of occupation, and its links with the semi-fascist administrations in the former racist regime in South Africa had been criticized for many years by many prominent intellectuals in Israel. This Jewish criticism was aimed not just at the policies of Israel, but also at atheist Zionism, its official ideology.

This situation is the expression of a very important truth: Israel’s policy of occupation and state terrorism from 1967 up to the present stems from the ideology of atheist Zionism, and many jewish people in the world are opposed to it.

For Muslims, therefore, the concepts that should be criticized are not Judaism or the Jewish race, but Godless Zionism. In the same way that an anti-Nazi can have no hatred for the German people, so he can have none for the Jewish race because he opposes atheist Zionism.

The Racist Roots of Atheist Zionism

After the jewish people were expelled from Jerusalem in 70 AD, they began to spread to different parts of the world. During this period of the ‘diaspora,’ which lasted up to the 19th century, the vast majority of jewish people saw themselves as a religious group. Over time, most jewish people adopted the religion of the countries they lived in. jewish people in Germany, for example, began to speak German, and those in Britain, English. Hebrew was left as a sacred language used only in prayers and religious texts. When certain social restrictions on jewish people in European countries were lifted in the 19th century, jewish people began to assimilate with the societies they were living in. Most jewish people saw themselves as a ‘religious community,’ not as a ‘race’ or ‘nation.’ They described themselves as ‘Jewish Germans,’ ‘Jewish Britons,’ or ‘Jewish Americans.’

However, there was a huge rise in racism all over the world in the 19th century. Racist ideas, influenced in particular by Darwin’s theory of evolution, grew enormously and found many supporters particularly in Western societies. Atheist Zionism was the effect this racist storm had among the jewish people.

There are two varieties of Zionism today. The first of these is the Zionist conception of the devout Jewish people, who wish to live in peace and security in Israel alongside Muslims, seeking peace and wishing to worship in the lands of their forefathers and engage in business. In that sense, Muslims support Zionism. We would fully back the devout Jewish people living in peace and security in their own lands, remembering God, worshipping in their synagogues and engaging in science and trade in their own land.

The Zionist belief held by a devout Jew and based on the Torah does not in any way conflict with the Qur’an. The jewish people’ living in that region is indicated in the Qur’an, in which it is revealed that God has settled the Children of Israel on it:

Remember when Moses said to his people, “My people! Remember God’s blessing to you when He appointed prophets among you and appointed kings for you, and gave you what He had not given to anyone else in all the worlds! My people! Enter the Holy Land which God has ordained for you. Do not turn back in your tracks and so become transformed into losers.” (Surat al-Ma’ida: 20-21)

It is the “irreligious, Godless Zionism” that we as Muslims condemn and regard as a threat. These Godless Zionists, who do not defend the existence and oneness of God, but, on the contrary, encourage a Darwinist, materialist perspective and thus engage in irreligious propaganda, are also a threat to devout jewish people. Godless Zionism is today engaged in a struggle against peace, security and moral virtue, and constantly produces strife and chaos and the shedding of blood. Muslims and devout jewish people must join forces to oppose this Godless Zionism and encourage belief in God.

Judaism Is Not the Origin of Atheist Zionism

The jewish people who propagated the idea of Godless Zionism were people with very weak religious beliefs, most of whom were atheists. They saw Judaism as the name of a race, not as a community of belief. They suggested that the jewish people were a separate race from European nations, that it was impossible for them to live together and that it was essential they establish their own homeland. They did not rely on religious thinking when deciding where that homeland should be. Theodor Herzl, the founder of irreligious Zionism, once thought of Uganda, and this became known as the ‘Uganda Plan.’ The Zionists later decided on Palestine. The reason for this was Palestine was regarded as ‘the jewish people’ historic homeland’ rather than for any religious significance it had for them.

The atheist Zionists made great efforts to get other jewish people to accept these non-religious ideas. In fact, the World Zionist Organization that was set up for this purpose undertook vast propaganda work in all countries with Jewish populations, and suggested that jewish people could not live peacefully with other nations and that they were a separate ‘race,’ for which reason they had to go and settle in Palestine. Most Jewish communities ignored these calls.

In this way, atheist Zionism entered world politics as a racist ideology which maintained that jewish people should not live with other nations. First of all, this mistaken idea created grave problems for and pressure on jewish people living in the diaspora. Then for the millions of Muslims in the Middle East, it brought the Israeli policy of occupation and annexation, together with bloodshed, death, poverty and terror.

Many jewish people today criticize this atheist and radical form of Zionist  ideology. Rabbi Hirsch, one of the foremost Jewish men of religion, said, ‘Zionism wants to define the Jewish people as a national entity ... which is a heresy.’ 2

The famous French Muslim thinker Roger Garaudy wrote this on the subject:

The worst enemy of the prophetic Jewish faith is the nationalist, racist and colonialist logic of tribal Zionism, born of the nationalism, racism and colonialism of 19th century Europe. This logic …inspired all the colonialisms of the West and all its wars of one nationalism against another…There is no future or security for Israel and no peace in the Middle East unless Israel becomes "dezionized" and returns to the faith of Abraham, which is the spiritual, fraternal and common heritage of the three revealed religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. 3
