Yeah I saw that meteor last night near Marietta. It was so cool looking. It streaked across the Southwest part of the sky about 20° down to the the West. Looked to be green and I could see pieces of it burning off. I had a camera in hand but by the time I had it turned on video it had already come and gone.
The timing was interesting as well being about (I think) about 10-15 minutes before the Russian meteor exploded.
I honestly cannot see how anyone can say NASA is telling the truth when they say that the fireballs on Feb 14th had nothing to do with 2012 DA14. I mean sure, they might not have been fragments of the asteroid itself but DA14 sure as hell brought along a few friends.
I wouldn't be surprised if there's at least a few fireballs similar to the one that was observed in Alabama reported tonight. Maybe even another that makes it down to the troposphere intact before explosming.
