Meteor in Moultrie, Georgia??
My friends friends in Georgia on Facebook are reporting a loud explosion. There was a meteor seen in Alabama last night before the one in Russia. Could this be another one?

If it was from south Georgia, it was from the men's room at the Fresh Air barbecue joint near Jefferson. I fucked that bathroom up.

Re: Meteor in Moultrie, Georgia??
Yeah I saw that meteor last night near Marietta. It was so cool looking. It streaked across the Southwest part of the sky about 20° down to the the West. Looked to be green and I could see pieces of it burning off. I had a camera in hand but by the time I had it turned on video it had already come and gone.

The timing was interesting as well being about (I think) about 10-15 minutes before the Russian meteor exploded.

I honestly cannot see how anyone can say NASA is telling the truth when they say that the fireballs on Feb 14th had nothing to do with 2012 DA14. I mean sure, they might not have been fragments of the asteroid itself but DA14 sure as hell brought along a few friends.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's at least a few fireballs similar to the one that was observed in Alabama reported tonight. Maybe even another that makes it down to the troposphere intact before explosming.

Maybe they were tipping a little too much moonshine and didn't care to call it in.

Re: Meteor in Moultrie, Georgia??
These larger meteors often collect little bunches of smaller rocks that sort of "float along" with them - pulled in by the larger rock's gravity. Once they get close to a planet, the planetary gravity can easily over ride the meteors' gravity field and pull these small rocks right on into itself.

This seems to be what has happend in Russia and Cuba so far. They may well be others. Large and small. Some you won't even notice, and others may do damage like the Russian rock did or worse.

Sounds true enough. But do they sound like this when they hit.

This is continuous explosions.

Could be sonic booms from other fragments of the meteor. I dunno. Skies here are clearing up so if I see any more fireballs y'all will be the first to know.
