I honestly cannot see how anyone can say NASA is telling the truth when they say that the fireballs on Feb 14th had nothing to do with 2012 DA14. I mean sure, they might not have been fragments of the asteroid itself but DA14 sure as hell brought along a few friends. I wouldn't be surprised if there's at least a few fireballs similar to the one that was observed in Alabama reported tonight. Maybe even another that makes it down to the troposphere intact before explosming. |
Kristina (OP) User ID: 33003246 United States 02/15/2013 07:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yeah I saw that meteor last night near Marietta. It was so cool looking. It streaked across the Southwest part of the sky about 20° down to the the West. Looked to be green and I could see pieces of it burning off. I had a camera in hand but by the time I had it turned on video it had already come and gone. I listen to the Russian video and video here in the states (website above). The sounds are identical. |

Once they get close to a planet, the planetary gravity can easily over ride the meteors' gravity field and pull these small rocks right on into itself. This seems to be what has happend in Russia and Cuba so far. They may well be others. Large and small. Some you won't even notice, and others may do damage like the Russian rock did or worse. |

Skies here are clearing up so if I see any more fireballs y'all will be the first to know. |
