Consider the crimes of lesser beneath him and how often they have walked free. Then consider the army of those secretly loyal to him. They are in places low and high. Who is going to charge him? No one.

And just tell us how does stepping down prevent him from yet being charged? It does not...IF it was plausible that he was ever going to be charged. So with your insanely weak argument in tow you can claim "See he stepped down to avoid being charged" and think your self right and that the fact that he is not charged proves you right when in fact it proves the contrary.
