Not a single death in 5000 years. You can't OD on Marijuana. You will fall asleep. You would have to explode from overheating from all of the smoked Marijuana to actually die.

Re: Marijuana Legalization Now!
As a Dutchman I am fucking disgusted.

Disgusted at the fact that America actually surpassed the fucking Netherlands regarding the legality of pot. I mean Washington and Colorado have fully legalised pot if I am not mistaken. By fully I mean sales and growing of pot. And we still don't have the growing part legal. Even in a day and age where the United States of Fucking America has legalised pot in some states we have ministers who actively oppose municipalities from experimenting with legalised growing of pot for the usages in pot shops.

Can you believe it? 30 years after the first pot shop in the Netherlands responsible people are STILL not allowed to grow pot on a large scale for commercial sales even though all the officials from those municipalities wanted to experiment with legalize growing. The minister of safety and justice just said no. Even a judge rulled that those municipalities had every right to experiment with it and that it would be perfectly in accordance to local law and international treaties and still the asshole said nah.

Instead they are slowly trying to take our rights to smoke pot away. Somewhat like the US gun grab craze they wanted pot smokers to register with the government if they wanted to smoke pot and would only be allowed to get pot from 1 shop in 1 municipality. Pot shops still get fucked over contantly, they are only allowed to have 500 grams in the shop which for a decent shop is not even half a day worth. Lately they have been hitting shops who are storing more than they are allowed and closing them up so shop owners are now required to store their pot somewhere else. Which is illegal. That also means if the pot gets stolen they have no backing from the law so they are a very big target for criminals. Can you believe that? And it is funny that it are the liberals trying taking away our rights to smoke pot (it is funny cause here liberals are right wing).

Sometimes I just want to get away from all of this to a part of the world where you just don't have this shit. In a remote place in North or South America there is no real rule of law. There are no cops so you can basically do what you want. I just get crazy from this endless repetitive spiral of retardness and never actually getting somewhere. And a life of self reliance and nature doesn't seem so horrible to me. I don't like the fact that I only can get my food from a store and that I never can really escape the hysteria of urban life without putting all kinds of crazy substances in my head.

You can prove this? Though was watching something on tv a long time ago about a man that overdosed on marijuana and died. I'm sure it could kill you if you massively overdosed though I don't buy the whole it's a dangerous drug crap. (Unless you overdose to the point that it kills you)

Sure, but we need a way to keep the hemp from pollinating the marijuana, or good herb will become hard to find.

I have a state medical marijuana card that allows 24 plants and 24 ounces. It wasn't very hard to get. I love visiting the Netherlands, as it was the home of my ancestors, but I find it odd that for me, weed is far more legal back home than in Amsterdam.

Can't overdose. You would need to eat far more than can ever fit in your stomach and you would need to smoke so much that you would die from the smoke itself before overdosing on pot. You can suffocate if you burned a couple of plants in a sealed environment. You might choke on a pot browny and suffocate. You might drop your roach in a daze and trip while trying to grab it and freakishly break your neck but that is about it.

Crack is better, the next logical step.
The Right Policy is Always Conservative

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their President." - Vaclav Klaus

AND why would you buy pot based on tv advertising, anyway? Wouldn't you buy based on word of mouth advertising?

The money to be made by the corporate world in regards to marijuana will be all of the accessories and lifestyle products that will follow.

Want to bet that celebrities will be buying $5000 vaporizers and so on?

Or how about pot vacations? Places that cater especially to people who are stoned? Club Med will have a rival in Club MJ--for those so inclined to get high and enjoy such places.

There will be all manner of local growers that the model for MJ would follow the same as beer: local breweries that over time, for whatever reason, get absorbed into larger one. BUT the character and nature of many growers would be to avoid all semblances of commercialism, I believe.

Re: Marijuana Legalization Now!
In summary, enormous doses of Delta 9 THC, All THC and concentrated marihuana extract ingested by mouth were unable to produce death or organ pathology in large mammals but did produce fatalities in smaller rodents due to profound central nervous system depression.

The non-fatal consumption of 3000 mg/kg A THC by the dog and monkey would be comparable to a 154-pound human eating approximately 46 pounds (21 kilograms) of 1%-marihuana or 10 pounds of 5% hashish at one time. In addition, 92 mg/kg THC intravenously produced no fatalities in monkeys.

These doses would be comparable to a 154-pound human smoking at one time almost three pounds (1.28 kg) of 1%-marihuana or 250,000 times the usual smoked dose and over a million times the minimal effective dose assuming 50% destruction of the THC by smoking.

Thus, evidence from animal studies and human case reports appears to indicate that the ratio of lethal dose to effective dose is quite large. This ratio is much more favorable than that of many other common psychoactive agents including alcohol and barbiturates.

I think you're going to see more DUIs in at least the state of Washington. CNN did a news segment this week on people driving stoned. The limit in Washington is 5 nanograms of THC per m/l of blood.

It only takes 1/10 of a gram to become legally impaired in that state although the test subjects were driving safely at levels 7-10x the legal limit. If you're a heavy smoker, you'll wake up the next morning with levels that could get you arrested if you got pulled over and tested, even if you didn't smoke that morning.

I woke up and got stoned this morning and studied some basic mathematical symbols and definitions. And then I thought to myself: "I wonder why the government is so ardently opposed to the public smoking Marijuana?" I could care less about their reasons right now. It's not up for debate in my books.

I would be willing to be executed quite frankly as opposed to life in prison. The first death in 5000 years. The only 23 year old molecular disabled biologist in Canada who smokes Marijuana and would be willing to be publicly executed for his belief.

I would be willing to die, because now I have empirical evidence that the government that takes your money for fancy dinners and whatever else they want, is also ardently opposed to the ethical treatment of animals, and alternative therapies that could quite possibly eliminate a lot of tax burdens of denizens.

I don't give a shit. Why should you?
