I hate pc nonsense. In the US the pc term for black folk is african american. Lets get real they are black. I am not called European american, I am white.
Is a white south african living in the US, African American? NO! How bout a north African from Morocco?
Main question is what are the folks of a a darker skin referred to in other countries? Not looking for offensive comments but serious responses
Quoting: Ossiel Actually the answer is yes. I had a friend in college from Zimbabwe who was white, had a British sounding accent so everyone assumed he was English born. He immigrated with his family in his teens and became an American citizen. Officially on paper he was African American. That term refers to country of origin, not race. He ran into many issues with the financial aid department and different black organizations when they realized he wasn't black. So if they want to separate themselves by the color of their skin, then they should call themselves Black Americans, because my friend was a true African American.
