Let's just say we were talking "Old School Metal" instead of "Old School" and we had all that sorted out properly...

I'm not sure anything from "Lock Up the Wolves" would qualify. It's hitless and post 80's. By 1988, Metal was in it's Death throes with bands like "Jackyll" ruining the genre with Garbage like "The Lumberjack Song" and Skid Row just urinating all over the borders between Edge and Glam. By this time it was like "Ug. What's this even about anymore???"

Hence the appeal of Grunge and honesty in the art.

Lock Up the Wolves was RJD's "attempt" to stay true to his own status quo, which was "Old School" but the spirit is not there, and will not return until "Killing the Dragon" in his Solo ventures. (Sabbath reunions another story, he really just rules with Iommi/Butler/Appice)
