Yeah, I'd assume that's why they chose to name it that.. Has nothing to do with the bible and the bible has nothing to do with the movie. The word matrix has been used infrequently throughout history to describe 'womb' or some other form of controlled environment. If you read some older English literature, you'll catch the word every once in awhile. |

God promised he would bring them to Canaan, but as a sacrifice, he commanded these people to give their first born males to him. Some texts say a specific number, 12, as quoted above in another post. Has nothing to do with "Cain" - spelled "A.I.N" The reason it was first-born and male -- is not always clear in the bible, but it's believed to be because men cherished the male child much more than a female. Great sacrifice. God himself, sacrificed his only son, Jesus. It's all connected in some mind-boggling ways. |
