BREAKING: 'Sheriffs first,' gun bills clear Montana House committee!!
HELENA – Montana moved a step closer Friday to declaring that local sheriffs are the supreme law of the land and trying to nullify any federal crackdown on assault rifles.

The measures were among a slate of gun rights bills that cleared the Legislature’s House Judiciary Committee and now head to the House floor.

Other measures that advanced would let college students bring guns on campus, allow high school students to leave guns locked in their cars, and clear the way for nearly anyone to carry concealed weapons without a permit.

Several of the bills met with staunch opposition from Democrats.

The so-called “sheriffs first” bill says federal agents must get a sheriff’s permission before making arrests or serving warrants – or risk local kidnapping or trespassing charges.

If the bill clears the Republican-controlled House and Senate, it would go directly to voters in 2014. The direct referendum would avoid the potential veto pen of Gov. Steve Bullock, a Democrat.

Supporters said it is a necessary check on the power of federal law enforcement agencies,

The measure was opposed earlier in the week at a hearing by local law enforcement agencies, and critics have said such a measure most certainly would face a legal challenge.

Opponents, led by Democrats, warned it would threaten the effectiveness of cooperative task forces tracking violent crime and drugs.

Vote by 2014?

rofl

By that time anyone who would vote for it will be either

A: Disarmed already

B: Arrested already

or

C: Dead already.

I am not saying it is a good thing...because it is but for this to have any value it should have been passed 10 years ago.

As of now...stick a fork in it...were done.

Re: BREAKING: 'Sheriffs first,' gun bills clear Montana House committee!!
Obviously banning an instrument is not an effective way to prevent violence, which existed before any particular weapon. Violence will be committed with whatever is available, especially if someone is crazy - whether with an assault rifle or a kitchen knife or acid in the face.

Banning weapons is most effective at protecting THEM (who still get to enjoy protection from any "banned" weapons) from US.

Bans on weapons are being passed (with the willing help of libtards) by tyrants afraid of the people they so miserably fail to represent. They want people disarmed before the masses realize just how much damage TPTB have caused.

It is a necessary step to improve their odds of staying in power after collapse. Collapse is coming.

This well-researched book is worth reading:

Do some research into the origin of the word "Sheriff". The "Shire Reeves" were the law enforcers and tax collectors in the counties for the "king" of England in the 1600's.

"The word "sheriff" is a contraction of the term "shire reeve". The term, from the Old English scīrgerefa, designated a royal official responsible for keeping the peace (a "reeve") throughout a shire or county on behalf of the king".( [link to en.wikipedia.org]

Yes, they can easily pull it off. It is still amazing to me that after all these shootings that the general public does not question or suspect any underlying agenda going on. Then again when videos like the 5 thousand versions of the "Harlem Shake" are getting millions of views, I shouldn't be so surprised.
The years passed, mankind became stupider at a frightening rate. Some had high hopes the genetic engineering would correct this trend in evolution, but sadly the greatest minds and resources where focused on conquering hair loss and prolonging erections. ~ Narrator (Idiocracy)

Liberalism truly is a FREAKING MENTAL DISORDER and it infects every state in the union.

Time for some serious chemotherapy to purge the cancer.

You have to recall though that with any good cancer treatment....the odds of killing the patient before you kill the cancer is very high.

I still think we should do a good strong bone marrow change
on those poor deluded sorry ass bastards.

On the other hand though........their disease/disorder
is most likely terminal anyway. They are so infected that given a little more time (minus treatment) they are going to die anyway....

just let the cancer eat them up.

Too late most likely to save the patient.

The condition is inoperable and terminal.

Re: BREAKING: 'Sheriffs first,' gun bills clear Montana House committee!!

Was not very long ago in Texas our children brought their guns to school in their vehicles. We could bring guns to Church.... I never remember a problem in my community, over 36 years...

We had Gun Club in our high school, and the principal was the staff member who was the club leader. He felt very strongly about kids being able to responsibly use guns. He was a very respected, well liked educator, principle for decades. This was the high school in a university town, and the professors' kids were right in there with the tradesmen's kids. Can you imagine that now? No problem there either, except from the university student from the cities.
