He's pulling this "disparate impact" crap with the mortgage industry, too. Black people, it seems, have worse credit than other racial groups, so his new Consumer Finance Protection Bureau is auditing everybody's files and, if you don't have a proportional number of black folks in there, you get sued. Doesn't even matter how hard you tried to make those loans. If you don't get 25%, or so, Obama voters on your loan logs, you're sued.

The milder form of this, pressure from community organizing groups like ACORN, is what gave us the beginnings of our mortgage crash in the first place. The market won't be around to see the harm this new policy does, but rest assured, it would have been bad.

This is one thing Obama's doing that I actually agree with. A lot of excellent points have been made on this thread, but one I haven't seen anyone raise is this: what if you were wrongfully convicted, or worse, outright framed?

According to a study conducted by the Innocence Project, roughly 1 in 20 inmates in the US is actually innocent! And I don't mean "innocent of the crime they were convicted for, but guilty of something else they were never arrested for." I mean "outright innocent, and never guilty of any felony!"

In the US, we imprison more people than any other nation on Earth by percentage of total population. There are bound to be a lot of false convictions along the way. How many people take a plea, just because they know the deck is stacked against them, even though they are truly innocent? 1 year, guaranteed, or possibly 20 just for demanding your Constitutional right to trial by jury? And don't think you won't be punished further if you decide to "waste the time and taxpayer money" that a jury trial requires...

It is a racial issue, but it's becoming less of one with each passing day, as more ridiculous laws are written than anyone can reasonably be expected to keep track of. More and more people are being sucked into the maws of the Prison-Industrial Complex, as more slave labor is needed, and more profiteers enrich themselves through a broken justice system.

The HLS boys were telling us, a year ago right now, that BHO would get reelected and immediately after the installation the second amendment would be eviscerated. They already knew long before the sham election so I would think the rest of the world knew as well. They all know the rat isn't legally pres, even if you discount the birthplace. I think that is a great idea Canada. Then all the other previously incarcerated job hunters would have a built in job acceptance program.

They should do something, even though I am not a convicted felon nor have I been arrested for any violent crime, before I was disabled places repeatedly turned me down based on my arrest record. It's a off about it only affects African Americans, it affects us all but I guess that doesn't matter to the O-puppet. There should be some sort of law to allow privacy on arrests or expunge them and possibly for non-violent felons where no victim is involved.

I was convicted of a felony 24 years ago. I really would like to see a society where "you paid your debt to society" is more than just lip service.

Post 9-11 society has it to where now you can't even get a job as a greeter at WalMart if you have a record, at all. I say "post 9-11" because prior to that event, I was managing fortune 500 companies and made a decent living wage.

I would like to see a limit to how far back some employers are allowed to search. 7-10 years seems to be a fair number to me.

All that said, an employer has a right to decide who he wants on his team or not. I think this is utter bullshit.
