Quoting: Saddletramp Tens of thousands of Americans who cannot get health insurance because of preexisting medical problems will be blocked from a program designed to help them because funding is running low. Obama administration officials said Friday that the state-based “high-risk pools” set up under the 2010 health-care law will be closed to new applicants as soon as Saturday and no later than March 2, depending on the state. But they stressed that coverage for about 100,000 people who are now enrolled in the high-risk pools will not be affected... [link to www.washingtonpost.com] And this also means...we're still going to pay for this program, but no one after today is going to get any benefits from this program... At least not until we kick more money in... Government at its best... You show me that, and I will get on board with you... You were already paying for it, you just weren't getting your money's worth. I don't give a flying fuck about the constitution; I say we throw it out and write a new one that addresses the issues of the 21st Century. Anonymous Coward User ID: 34494885 Netherlands 02/16/2013 11:59 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Healthcare in America is the biggest rip off in the world and ObongoCare only makes it worse. You think currently its better if you make it to 65 and its all good with medicare ?? not so. You still have a gap. If you dont have that gap insurance then you are just as screwed. Just to pay the gap with medicare here for a bypass cost 30k and you can fly to Germany and have one done for about 18k cash total out the door. The crappy Obamacare program will FAIL of its own govt obesity hopefully. Its an over bloated bill that does nothing more than provide more govt control and revenue. Just wait until the govt starts emptying peoples bank accounts. There is a solution, but it puts no money in the govt pockets, so I guess thats out. They should set it up like Hong Kong in the late 80s if they want socialized medicine. It may still be that way. 14.5% flat income tax, free medical and dental, but if you could afford it you could buy your own HC insurance which was about like ours and go to private doctors and dentists. The real problem here is the massive profits and corporate health related bribery of politicians in congress. The system needs tort reform, get hospitals under control, take the massive huge money out of the insurance and drug industry then everybody could have $100 a month health insurance. We dont need this crappy plan O has installed. As-is Ocare will cost $340 a month for an individual. Minimum wage at $9 an hour and the employer wisely opts out of Ocare Roughly $18700 income filing single.... -$3000 tax, -4000 Ocare, - 5000 rent share, -2500 Utilities, $3500 food (if you really tighten up), -2000 fuel and that leaves a lot of stuff out like Car, car maintenance, savings etc, loans. $20,000 If you opt out of Ocare and pay $6400 Tax total or almost 35% on a $18700 yearly income that leaves you with $300 play money for the year. Lower middle class families dont have a chance at survival without both parents working 2 jobs each. |
